Russo-Ukraine War - 27 September 2025 - Day 1312

A number of claims and counterclaims are being made on the Ukraine-Russia conflict on the ground and online. While GlobalSecurity.org takes utmost care to accurately report this news story, we cannot independently verify the authenticity of all statements, photos and videos.

On 24 February 2022, Ukraine was suddenly and deliberately attacked by land, naval and air forces of Russia, igniting the largest European war since the Great Patriotic War. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "special military operation" (SVO - spetsialnaya voennaya operatsiya) in Ukraine in response to the appeal of the leaders of the "Donbass republics" for help. That attack is a blatant violation of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Putin stressed that Moscow's goal is the demilitarization and denazification of the country. The military buildup in preceeding months makes it obvious that the unprovoked and dastardly Russian attack was deliberately planned long in advance. During the intervening time, the Russian government had deliberately sought to deceive the world by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

"To initiate a war of aggression... is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole." [Judgment of the International Military Tribunal]

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in total, since the beginning of this day, there have been 145 combat clashes.

Zagarbniki made 55 aviation strikes, dropping 99 controlled air bombs. In addition, the Russians have engaged 2230 kamikaze drones and carried out 3389 shelling positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements.

In the North Slobozhansky and Kursky directions, Ukrainian soldiers repelled four Russian assault actions since the beginning of the day, one battle is ongoing.
Also, the enemy launched 17 air strikes, while dropping 44 controlled air bombs, carrying out 169 shells, of which 11 were from the reactive systems of salvage fire.
In the South Slobozhansky direction, the Russian enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders five times in the areas of populated points of Vovchansk, Krasne Pershe and towards Doroshivka, currently two clashes continue.
In the Kupyansky direction, Russian units carried out six assault actions, trying to break through the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the area of the Petropavlivka settlement and towards Pi Наany and Boguslavka.
In the Lyman direction since the beginning of the day Russian zagarbniki 15 times attacked the positions of Ukrainians in the areas of the settlements of Shandrigolove, Kolodyazi and Torske. Still in three locations, the fights continue.
In the Sívers Наkomu direction, the Russian enemy four times tried to break through near Serebryanka, Fedorivka and towards Dronivka, one fight is ongoing.
Two combat clashes were recorded in the Kramators Стуkomu direction, the Russian enemy's units tried to advance towards Stupochok.
In the Toretsky direction Russians 14 times attacked the positions of Defense Forces. Efforts of the attack of the Russian occupiers concentrated in the areas of Oleksandro-Shultynogo, šcherbinivka, Pleshiyivka, Jablunivka and Rusynoy Yar.
Since the beginning of the day in the Pokrovsky direction, Russian units have tried 40 times to break through Ukrainian defense in the areas of settlements Volodymyrivka, Nikanorivka, Chervonyi Liman, Sukhetske, Novoekonomichne, Nikolaivka, Lisivka, Zvirove, Kotline, Udaachne, Novomykolaivka, Kotlyarivka and Dachne. In some locations the fighting does not stop.
Defense forces deter Russian attacks, the enemy suffers significant losses - today 154 Russian invaders have been defecated in this direction, 90 of which are irrevocable. Ukrainian defenders destroyed three units of automotive equipment and 22 unmanned aircraft. Three artillery systems, a tank, two REB vehicles are also significantly damaged. In addition to this, Ukrainian defenders have struck ten personnel covers.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, Ukrainian units stopped 16 Russian attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops in the areas of settlements Sichneve, Piddubne, Novoselivka, Sosnivka, Maliivka, Novomikolaivka, Berezove and Novogrigorivka, another combat is ongoing so far.
In the Gulyaipil direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled six attempts of Russian units to advance in the Poltavka area, two more clashes are still ongoing.
In the Orihivsky direction, the Russian zagarbniki six times tried to advance in the area of Stepovoye, Kamiansky and towards novodanilivka and novoandriivka.
In the Pridniprovsk direction, the Russian opponent made one unsuccessful attempt to attack, suffered losses.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.

Units of the Sever Group of Forces inflicted fire damage on three mechanised brigades and one assault regiment of the AFU near Varachino, Khrapovshchina, Andreyevka, and Alekseyevka (Sumy region).

In Kharkov direction, units of the one AFU motorised infantry brigade and one territorial defence brigade have been hit near Otradnoye and Volchansk (Kharkov region).

The AFU losses amounted to more than 175 troops, one armoured fighting vehicle, 10 motor vehicles, three artillery guns, and eight ammunition and materiel depots.

As a result of resolute actions, the Zapad Group's units liberated Derilovo (Donetsk People's Republic).

In Kirovsk (Donetsk People's Republic), Russian assault detachments continue to destroy scattered groups of AFU militants.

Losses were inflicted on manpower and hardware of three mechanised brigades, one assault brigade of the AFU, and one territorial defence brigade near Borovskaya Andreyevka, Petrovka, Kolodeznoye (Kharkov region), Drobyshevo, Novoselovka, and Yampol (Donetsk People's Republic).

The enemy losses amounted to up to 230 troops, one U.S.-made HMMWV armoured vehicle, and 18 motor vehicles. Six electronic warfare stations and four ammunition depots were neutralised.

The Yug Group's units improved the situation along the front line and liberated Mayskoye (Donetsk People's Republic).

In the past 24 hours, 1.1 square kilometres of territory have been liberated near Kleban-Byk Reservoir in Donetsk People's Republic.

Russian troops inflicted losses on three mechanised brigades of the AFU and two territorial defence brigades near Seversk, Konstantinovka, Dronovka, Berestok, Druzhkovka, Pleshcheyevka, and Fedorovka (Donetsk People's Republic).

The enemy lost up to 295 troops, one U.S.-made M113 armoured personnel carrier, and three motor vehicles. Six electronic warfare stations and five ammunition and materiel depots were neutralised.

The Tsentr Group of Forces' units took more advantageous lines and positions. Russian formations engaged manpower and hardware of two heavy mechanised brigades, one mechanised brigade, one air assault brigade of the AFU, and two national guard brigades near Krasnoarmeysk, Krasny Liman, Udachnoye, Moskovskoye, Dimitrov, Petrovka, Dobropolye, Rodinskoye, and Rubezhnoye (Donetsk People's Republic).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 475 troops, one tank, one armoured personnel carrier, two pickup trucks, and two artillery guns.

The Vostok Group's units continued to advance to the depths of the enemy's defence and liberated Stepovoye (Dnepropetrovsk region).

Three mechanised brigades and  one assault brigade of the AFU have been hit near Podgavrilovka, Privolye (Dnepropetrovsk region), Novogrigorovka, Sladkoye, Uspenovka, and Gulyaipole (Zaporozhye region).

The AFU losses amounted to more than 285 troops, one armoured fighting vehicle, 12 motor vehicles, and one U.S.-made 115-mm M198 howitzer.

Units of the Dnepr Group of Forces inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of one mountain assault brigade, one mechanised brigade, and two coastal defence brigades of the AFU close to Veseloye, Antonovka, Sadovoye (Kherson region), Kamyshevakha, and Lukyanovskoye (Zaporozhye region).

Up to 75 troops, one U.S.-made HMMWV armoured vehicle, five motor vehicles, two electronic warfare stations, and three ammunition and materiel depots have been neutralised.

Operational-tactical aviation, attack drones, missile troops and artillery of the Russian Group of Forces have inflicted damage on the traction substations used for the railway weapons and military hardware supply to combat areas in Donbass, long-range unmanned aerial vehicles storage and launch areas, as well as temporary deployment areas of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 138 areas.

Air defence systems shot down two guided aerial bombs and 131 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 667 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 86,900 unmanned aerial vehicles, 631 anti-aircraft missile systems, 25,261 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,592 MLRS fighting vehicles, 29,985 field artillery guns and mortars, and 42,715 special military vehicles have been neutralised.
