Russo-Ukraine War - 08 September 2025 - Day 1293

A number of claims and counterclaims are being made on the Ukraine-Russia conflict on the ground and online. While GlobalSecurity.org takes utmost care to accurately report this news story, we cannot independently verify the authenticity of all statements, photos and videos.

On 24 February 2022, Ukraine was suddenly and deliberately attacked by land, naval and air forces of Russia, igniting the largest European war since the Great Patriotic War. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "special military operation" (SVO - spetsialnaya voennaya operatsiya) in Ukraine in response to the appeal of the leaders of the "Donbass republics" for help. That attack is a blatant violation of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Putin stressed that Moscow's goal is the demilitarization and denazification of the country. The military buildup in preceeding months makes it obvious that the unprovoked and dastardly Russian attack was deliberately planned long in advance. During the intervening time, the Russian government had deliberately sought to deceive the world by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

"To initiate a war of aggression... is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole." [Judgment of the International Military Tribunal]

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in total, since the beginning of this day, there have been 158 combat clashes. Ukrainian defenders continue to decisively interrupt the attempts of the Russian enemy to advance deep into Ukrainian territory, giving him a fiery impression.

Russian zagarbniki carried out one rocket and 51 aviation strikes, using five missiles and dropping 95 controlled bombs. In addition, 1,952 kamikaze drones were recruited to impress and 3,449 shelling of positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements.

Four combat clashes took place in the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursky directions. The Russian enemy launched three air strikes, dropped seven controlled air bombs in total, and fired 124 artillery shells, including six from re-fire systems.
Today, the Russian enemy attacked four times in the South Slobozhansky direction, in the Vovchansky district.
In the Kupians янkomu direction, Russian forces made seven attacks in the areas of Mirnogo, Kupians Наka, Petropavlivka and in the direction of Novoplatonívka. One battle clash is still going on.
In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled 12 assault actions in the areas of Kolodyazi, Novomikhailivka, Torske, as well as towards Shandrigolovy.
In the sívers мкуkomu direction, the Russian enemy attacked eight times in the areas of grigorívka, yampol, serebryanka and viimki. So far, one combat is being sharpened.
Since the beginning of the day in the Kramators Зkomu direction, units of Russians attacked four times in the areas of Minkivka, Stupochok, White Mountain and towards Bondarnoy.
Seven combat clashes took place in the Toretsky direction today. Russian forces tried to storm the positions of Ukrainian units in the areas of Toretsk, Pleshieivka, Scherbinivka, Katerynivka and Poltavka. Currently one fight is going on.
In the Pokrovsky direction, since the beginning of this day, Russian forces attacked 45 times in the areas of settlements Rodins люke, Mirolyubivka, Beam, Zvirove, Kotline, Udaachne, Novopídgorodne, Dachne, Novoukrainka and towards Pokrovsk, Toretsky, Novoekonomíčnogo, Novopavlivka. Ukrainian defenders hold the pressure of the Russian opponent, five combat clashes are still ongoing.
Today, according to preliminary data, 137 Russian occupants have been defecated in this direction, of which 82 are irrevocable. In addition, Ukrainian soldiers damaged one cannon, four cars, two motorcycles, 12 unmanned aircraft, a satellite communication terminal, three communication antennas.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 33 Russian attacks in the areas of settlements Green Gai, Maliivka, Novoyegorivka, Green Field, Zaporizhye, Obratne, Olgivskie, Poltavka. Seven more combat clashes are underway.
The Russian enemy did not carry out offensive actions in Gulyaipilsky and Orihivskky directions.
In the Pridniprovsky direction, Ukrainian units repelled four Russian attacks in the direction of the Antonivsky Bridge. The Russian enemy caused aviation strikes on the settlement of Mykolaivka.
In other directions, there have been no significant changes in the environment.
