Russo-Ukraine War - 09 September 2025 - Day 1294

A number of claims and counterclaims are being made on the Ukraine-Russia conflict on the ground and online. While GlobalSecurity.org takes utmost care to accurately report this news story, we cannot independently verify the authenticity of all statements, photos and videos.

On 24 February 2022, Ukraine was suddenly and deliberately attacked by land, naval and air forces of Russia, igniting the largest European war since the Great Patriotic War. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "special military operation" (SVO - spetsialnaya voennaya operatsiya) in Ukraine in response to the appeal of the leaders of the "Donbass republics" for help. That attack is a blatant violation of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Putin stressed that Moscow's goal is the demilitarization and denazification of the country. The military buildup in preceeding months makes it obvious that the unprovoked and dastardly Russian attack was deliberately planned long in advance. During the intervening time, the Russian government had deliberately sought to deceive the world by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

"To initiate a war of aggression... is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole." [Judgment of the International Military Tribunal]

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in total, since the beginning of this day, there have been 152 combat encounters. Ukrainian defenders continue to decisively interrupt the attempts of the Russian enemy to advance deep into Ukrainian territory, giving him a fiery impression.

Russian zagarbniki inflicted one rocket and 59 aviation strikes, using two missiles and dropping 72 controlled bombs. In addition, they used 1977 kamikaze drones to impress and carried out 3,416 shelling positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements.

Eight combat clashes took place in the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursky directions. The Russian enemy launched 6 air strikes, dropped a total of 14 controlled air bombs, and carried out 174 artillery shells, including four from reactive systems.
Today, Russian forces attacked six times in the South Slobozhansky direction, in the Vovchansky district. The two fighting clashes are ongoing so far.
In the direction of Kupyans зkomu, Russian forces made seven attacks in the area of the Stepova Novoselivka, and in the direction of kupyans Куka, Petropavlivki, Pi Куany.
In the Lymanian direction, the Defense Forces repelled eight assault actions in the areas of settlements Novomikhailivka, Serednye, Kolodyazi and Torske. One battle clash is still going on.
In the sívers хkomu direction Russian forces 20 times attacked in the areas of serebryanka, grigorívka and in the direction of yampol, dronívka, viymki, pazeno. There are five combat clashes so far.
Since the beginning of the day in the kramators Зkomu direction, units of Russians attacked three times in the area of Stupochok.
10 combat clashes took place in the Toretsky direction today. Russian forces tried to storm the positions of Ukrainian units in the areas of Katerinivka, Yablunivka, Poltavka and towards Oleksandro-Shultynogo, Pleshiyivka.
In the Pokrovsky direction, since the beginning of this day, the Russian enemy attacked 47 times in the areas of settlements Volodymyrivka, New Shahove, Zapovidne, Mirolyubivka, Novoekonomíčne, Shevchenko, Zvirove, Kotline, Udaachne, Dachne and towards Rodinsky, Promenya, Suhogo Yaru, Pokrovsk, Molodetsky. Ukrainian defenders hold the pressure of the Russian opponent.
Today in this direction, according to preliminary data, 152 Russian occupants were defecated, of which 84 - irrevocably. In addition, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed seven cars, a motorcycle, a special equipment unit, eight unmanned aircraft, a BPLA control point, an ammunition warehouse. A car, a cannon and seven shells for the Russian enemy's personnel were damaged.
In the Novopavlovsky direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 21 Russian attacks in the areas of settlements Maliyivka, Komyshuvakh, Novomikolaivka, Olgivka and towards settlements Filiya, Ivanivka, Andriyivka-Klevtsove, Sichneve, Ternove, Novoivanivka. Five more fighting clashes are underway.
The Russian enemy did not carry out offensive actions in Gulyaipil, Orikhiv and Pridniprovskyi directions.
In other directions, there have been no significant changes in the environment.
