Russo-Ukraine War - 14 September 2025 - Day 1299

A number of claims and counterclaims are being made on the Ukraine-Russia conflict on the ground and online. While GlobalSecurity.org takes utmost care to accurately report this news story, we cannot independently verify the authenticity of all statements, photos and videos.

On 24 February 2022, Ukraine was suddenly and deliberately attacked by land, naval and air forces of Russia, igniting the largest European war since the Great Patriotic War. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "special military operation" (SVO - spetsialnaya voennaya operatsiya) in Ukraine in response to the appeal of the leaders of the "Donbass republics" for help. That attack is a blatant violation of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Putin stressed that Moscow's goal is the demilitarization and denazification of the country. The military buildup in preceeding months makes it obvious that the unprovoked and dastardly Russian attack was deliberately planned long in advance. During the intervening time, the Russian government had deliberately sought to deceive the world by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

"To initiate a war of aggression... is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole." [Judgment of the International Military Tribunal]

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to withhold the pressure of the occupation troops.

So far, a total of 173 combat encounters have taken place. Today, the Russian state launched one missile and 52 air strikes, fired four missiles and dropped 73 controlled bombs. In addition, the Russian zagarbniki engaged 2 115 kamikaze drones for impact and carried out 3 530 shelling positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements.

Eight combat clashes with Russian zagarbnikami took place in the North-Slobozhansky and Kursky directions. The Russian enemy launched seven air strikes, dropped 15 controlled bombs, carried out 110 shellings, including one of the jet systems of salvage fire.
Today, Russian forces attacked eight times in the South-Slobozhansky direction near Vovchansk and in the direction of Odradnogo. Three combat clashes are ongoing so far.
Eight times the Russian aggressor tried to go ahead on Ukrainian positions in the Kupiansky direction in the areas of settlements Nova Kruglyakivka, Kindrashivka, Kupiansk and Stepova Novoselivka. The three Russian attacks are ongoing so far.
In the Lyman direction for today Ukrainian defenders repelled 30 Russian attacks, 11 of which continue so far. The Russian enemy was coming in the direction of Stavki and near the settlements of Shandrigolove, Derylovove, Kolodâzi, Torske.
In the sívers .komu direction Ukrainian warriors fought off eight enemy attacks. Russian units tried to advance in the areas of Serebryanka, Grigorivka, Dronivka, Viymki and Fedorivka. One combat encounter is underway.
Seven combat clashes with the Russian enemy took place in the Kramatorsky direction in the areas of Stupochok and Oleksandro-Shultinyo; fighting in two locations is still ongoing.
In the Toretsky direction, Ukrainian troops today repelled seven Russian attacks in the areas of Ples аyivka, Katerynivka and Stepanivka. Three fighting clashes are still ongoing.
On the Pokrovsky direction during this day, the Russian aggressor 39 times attacked Ukrainian positions in the areas of the settlements Fedorivka, Nikanorivka, Mirnograd, Rodins неke, Suhetske, Ray, Lisivka, Udačne, Novopídgorodne, Molodetske, Novoukrainka, Philia, Dachne, Novoivanívka and towards Novopavlivka. Containing Russian pressure, Ukrainian defenders repelled 38 attacks, one fight is ongoing.
According to preliminary calculations, today on the Pokrovsky direction the Russian occupiers lost 128 people killed and injured. Ukrainian soldiers destroyed five vehicles units and 18 unmanned aircraft; struck one jet fire and one cannon.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders have already repelled 25 Russian attacks near the settlements of Maliyivka, Tolstoy, Oleksandrograd, Ternove, Berezove, Temirivka, Komyshuvakha, Olgivsk. Seven more combat clashes are still ongoing.
In the Gulyaipil direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled a Russian attack near Poltavka. Aviation strikes were hit by settlements of Bilogir and Zaliznychne.
In the oríhívs пkomu direction, the Russian opponent twice came near novoandríjvka and stepnogírs Наka.
In the Pridniprovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled five assault actions of the Russian occupiers. Zagarbnika's aviation struck Olgivka with unkemulated aviation missiles.
