Russo-Ukraine War - 15 September 2025 - Day 1300

A number of claims and counterclaims are being made on the Ukraine-Russia conflict on the ground and online. While GlobalSecurity.org takes utmost care to accurately report this news story, we cannot independently verify the authenticity of all statements, photos and videos.

On 24 February 2022, Ukraine was suddenly and deliberately attacked by land, naval and air forces of Russia, igniting the largest European war since the Great Patriotic War. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "special military operation" (SVO - spetsialnaya voennaya operatsiya) in Ukraine in response to the appeal of the leaders of the "Donbass republics" for help. That attack is a blatant violation of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Putin stressed that Moscow's goal is the demilitarization and denazification of the country. The military buildup in preceeding months makes it obvious that the unprovoked and dastardly Russian attack was deliberately planned long in advance. During the intervening time, the Russian government had deliberately sought to deceive the world by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

"To initiate a war of aggression... is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole." [Judgment of the International Military Tribunal]

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to withhold the pressure of the occupation troops.

So far, a total of 173 combat encounters have taken place. Today, the Russian state launched one missile and 42 aviation strikes, used two missiles and dropped 64 controlled bombs. In addition, Russia engaged 1846 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,450 shelling positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements.

Six clashes with Russian zagarbnikami took place in the North-Slobozhansky and Kursky directions. The enemy made 4 air strikes, dropped 12 controlled bombs, carried out 132 shelling, including six from the reactive systems of amphibious fire.
Today, the Russian enemy attacked 15 times in the South-Slobozhans ногоkomu direction near Vovchans воkih, Vovchanskih Hutorív, Barn, Odradnogo and Red First. Six clashes are ongoing so far.
Nine times Russian forces tried to go ahead on Ukrainian positions in the Kupyansky direction in the areas of the settlements of Kindrashivka, Zagrizove and in the direction of Kupyanska, Petropavlivki. Four Russian attacks are ongoing so far.
In the Lyman direction for today Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 Russian attacks, six of which continue so far. The Russian enemy was coming in the direction of the settlements Serednye, Stavki and near Grekivka, Derylovy, Shandrigolovy, Kolodyaziv, Torsky.
In the sívers їkomu direction Ukrainian warriors fought off 10 Russian attacks. The Russian occupier units tried to advance in the areas of Serebryanka, Grigorivka and towards the settlements of Yampil, Dronivka. Four fighting clashes are ongoing.
In the direction of Kramators Наkomu, there were four confrontations with the Russian opponent in the area of Orihovo-Vasilívki and in the direction of Stupočok and White Mountain.
In the Toretsky direction, Ukrainian troops today repelled 13 Russian attacks in the areas of Scherbinivka, Katerinivka and in the direction of Pleshiyivka, Rusynoy Yar, Poltavka. The two clashes are still ongoing.
On the pokrovsky direction during this day the Russian aggressor 41 times attacked Ukrainian positions in the areas of the settlements of volodymyrivka, zapovidne, novoekonomíčne, kotline, lucky, dachne and towards free, red liman, mirnograd, rodins повіkogo, ray, zvirovogo, molodec ліky, novopídgorodnogo, novopavlívka, ternovogo, novoívanívka, filíí̈. Withholding Russian pressure, Ukrainian defenders repelled 38 attacks, three combat clashes continue.
According to preliminary calculations, today on the Pokrovsky direction the Russian occupiers lost 156 people killed and injured. Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 11 vehicles, two motorcycles, 15 unmanned aircraft and a BPLA control point; struck two vehicles, one cannon and 5 Russian personnel covers.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders have already repelled 32 Russian attacks near the settlements of Yalta, Shevchenko, Komyshuvakha, Vorone and in the direction of Filija, Ivanivka, Iskra, Sichnevy, Olgivsky, Poltavka. Four more clashes are still ongoing.
In the direction of Gulyaipils напряkomu, the combat clashes were not fixed
In the Orihivsky direction, the Russian opponent came twice, in the area of Kamiansky and in the direction of Novodanilivka.
Ukrainian defenders repelled four Russian attacks in the Pridniprovsk direction.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.

The Sever Group of Forces inflicted losses on three mechanised brigades, an air assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and a territorial defence brigade close to Stepnoye, Varachino, Grunovka, and Alekseyevka (Sumy region).

In Kharkov direction, units of a motorised infantry brigade of the armed forces of Ukraine and a territorial defence brigade have been hit near Volchansk and Zhovtnevoye (Kharkov region).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 150 troops, an armoured fighting vehicle, seven motor vehicles, and three artillery guns including a Western-made artillery gun. Three electronic warfare stations, an ammunition dump, and five material depots were neutralised.

Units of the Zapad Group of Forces improved the tactical situation. Russian elements inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of two mechanised brigades and an assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Yampol, Shandrigolovo, and Karpovka (Donetsk People's Republic).

The enemy losses amounted to more than 240 troops, a tank, five armoured fighting vehicles, 22 motor vehicles, and two artillery guns including a Western-made artillery gun. Nine electronic warfare stations and nine ammunition depots were neutralised.

Units of the Yug Group of Forces took more advantageous lines and positions. Four mechanised brigades, a mountain assault brigade, an assault brigade, an airmobile brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade, and a territorial defence brigade have been hit near Zakotnoye, Platonovka, Konstantinovka, Seversk, Aleksandro-Kalinovo, and Artema (Donetsk People's Republic).

The enemy lost up to 260 troops, four armoured fighting vehicles, 15 motor vehicles, and four artillery guns. Two electronic warfare stations, a counter-fire radar, and two material depots were neutralised.

Units of the Tsentr Group of Forces continued advancing into the depth of enemy defences. Russian formations inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of three mechanised brigades, two air assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade, a territorial defence brigade, and a national guard brigade near Toretskoye, Artyomovka, Dimitrov, Torskoye, Vladimirovka, Zolotoy Kolodez, Novoaleksandrovka, and Krasnoarmeysk (Donetsk People's Republic).

The AFU losses amounted to up to 460 troops, six armoured fighting vehicles, three motor vehicles, and two field artillery guns.

Russian troops engaged two mechanised brigades, an assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and a national guard brigade close to Velikomikhaylovka, Gavrilovka, Malomikhaylovka, Novonikolayevka (Dnepropetrovsk region), and Novoivanovka (Zaporozhye region).

The AFU lost up to 260 troops, two tanks, an armoured fighting vehicle, and 10 motor vehicles. Two electronic warfare stations and an ammunition depot were eliminated.

The Dnepr Group of Forces inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of a mechanised brigade, two coastal defence brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a territorial defence brigade, and a national guard brigade near Stepnogorsk, Malaya Tokmachka (Zaporozhye region), Belozerka, Antonovka (Kherson region), and Nikopol (Dnepropetrovsk region).

Up to 65 troops, six motor vehicles, and an artillery gun were neutralised. Five electronic warfare stations and two ammunition depots were destroyed.

Operational-tactical aviation, attack drones, missile troops and artillery of the Russian groups of forces hit the transport infrastructure used for the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, long-range UAV depots and launching sites as well as temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian formations and foreign mercenaries in 149 areas.

Air defence units shot down 82 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 667 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 84,151 unmanned aerial vehicles, 628 anti-aircraft missile systems, 25,116 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,591 MLRS combat vehicles, 29,590 field artillery guns and mortars, and 41,811 units of support military vehicles have been neutralised.
