Russo-Ukraine War - 11 September 2025 - Day 1296

A number of claims and counterclaims are being made on the Ukraine-Russia conflict on the ground and online. While GlobalSecurity.org takes utmost care to accurately report this news story, we cannot independently verify the authenticity of all statements, photos and videos.

On 24 February 2022, Ukraine was suddenly and deliberately attacked by land, naval and air forces of Russia, igniting the largest European war since the Great Patriotic War. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "special military operation" (SVO - spetsialnaya voennaya operatsiya) in Ukraine in response to the appeal of the leaders of the "Donbass republics" for help. That attack is a blatant violation of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Putin stressed that Moscow's goal is the demilitarization and denazification of the country. The military buildup in preceeding months makes it obvious that the unprovoked and dastardly Russian attack was deliberately planned long in advance. During the intervening time, the Russian government had deliberately sought to deceive the world by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

"To initiate a war of aggression... is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole." [Judgment of the International Military Tribunal]

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Defense Forces are directing efforts to disrupt the execution of Russian invaders' offensive plans and exhaust their combat potential.

Since the beginning of the day, there have been 141 combat encounters. The Russian enemy made 56 air strikes, dropping 90 controlled air bombs, carrying out 1,729 kamikaze drones strikes and 3257 shelling positions of Ukrainian troops.

Two attacks of Russian invaders took place in the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions. The Russian enemy made 7 aviation strikes, dropping 15 controlled bombs, carried out 70 shelling, including two - from jet systems of salpovogo fire.
In the south-Slobozhans Наkomu direction, 14 combat clashes took place in the districts of Vovchansk, Barnoy and in the direction of Odradnoy. There is still one combat going on.
In the Kupians віkomu direction, Russian forces committed seven attacks on the position of Ukrainian troops. The fights were sharpened in the areas of Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, New Kruglyakivka and in the direction of Kurilivka.
In the Lyman direction, Russian troops 24 times stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the areas of settlements Grekivka, Torske, Yampil, Shandrigolove and Drobisheve. The four fighting clashes are still ongoing.
In the Sivers комуkomu direction Ukrainian soldiers today made six attempts to attack Ukrainian positions. Units of the Russian occupiers tried to advance in the areas of Grigorivka, Serebryanka, Dronivka, Viymki.
In the Kramators Стуkomu direction, the Defense Forces stopped one Russian attack in the Stupochok area.
In the Toretsky direction, Russian forces today 13 times stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the areas of settlements, Oleksandro-Shultine, Katerynivka, Rusin, Yar, Mayak, Poltavka. Defense forces held back the pressure of the Russian enemy and repelled all assault actions.
In the pokrovsky direction, Russian forces made 32 attempts to potisnisni Ukrainian units. Activity is observed in the areas of the settlements of Beam, Nikanorivka, Mayak, Novoekonomíčne, Rodins ровke, Mirolyubivka, Lisivka, Zvirove, Kotline, Udačne, Muravka, Dachne, Filia and in the direction of the settlement Pokrovsk. There is still one combat going on.
According to preliminary calculations, in this direction, Ukrainian warriors eliminated 79 and wounded 42 Russian invaders, destroyed six units of motor vehicles and 17 Russian unmanned aircraft.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, the Russian enemy 24 times tried to break through near the settlements of Piddubne, Yalta, Sosnivka, Ivanivka, Philia, Green Grove, Tolstoy, Maliivka, Komyshuvakha, Olgivskie, Poltavka and in the direction of Novoivanivka. Fights continue in two locations.
In the directions of Gulyaipil and Orikhiv, Russian forces did not carry out offensive actions, but made aerial strikes on the settlements of Bilogir and Zaliznychne.
In the pridniprovsky direction, the Russian enemy carried out two useless attacks on the position of Ukrainian defenders, at the same time inflicted airstrikes on the odradokamâncí.
