Russo-Ukraine War - 07 August 2025 - Day 1261

A number of claims and counterclaims are being made on the Ukraine-Russia conflict on the ground and online. While GlobalSecurity.org takes utmost care to accurately report this news story, we cannot independently verify the authenticity of all statements, photos and videos.

On 24 February 2022, Ukraine was suddenly and deliberately attacked by land, naval and air forces of Russia, igniting the largest European war since the Great Patriotic War. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "special military operation" (SVO - spetsialnaya voennaya operatsiya) in Ukraine in response to the appeal of the leaders of the "Donbass republics" for help. That attack is a blatant violation of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Putin stressed that Moscow's goal is the demilitarization and denazification of the country. The military buildup in preceeding months makes it obvious that the unprovoked and dastardly Russian attack was deliberately planned long in advance. During the intervening time, the Russian government had deliberately sought to deceive the world by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

"To initiate a war of aggression... is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole." [Judgment of the International Military Tribunal]

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in total, 119 combat clashes have taken place since the beginning of this day. Ukrainian defenders are decisively thwart the attempts of the Russian enemy to advance deep into Ukrainian territory, causing him significant losses.

Russian zagarbniki inflicted one rocket and 55 aviation strikes, using two rockets and dropping 104 controlled air bombs. In addition, 1,724 kamikaze drones were recruited to impress and carried out 4,015 shelling positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements.

Ten clashes with Russian zagarbnikami took place in the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursky directions.
Today, the enemy attacked four times in the South Slobozhansky direction - in the areas of Vovchansk and Figolivka, currently one battle is ongoing.
In the Kupyans вkomu direction, the Russian opponent made nine attacks in the areas of Mirny, Golubivka, Kindrashivka, Stepova Novoselivka and Zagrizovoye.
In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled 19 assault actions in the areas of Green Valley, Karpivka, Yampolivka, Kolodyaziv, Torsky, as well as in the directions of Serebryanka, Grigorivka and Olgivka. Two more fights are still going on.
In the sívers воkomu direction the Russian enemy four times attacked in the areas of grigorívka and fedorívka, but was kicked off.
Since the beginning of the day in the kramators чокkomu direction the units of the Russian occupiers attacked in the area of orihovo-vasilívki and in the direction of novomarkovogo and stupočok. Ukrainian units repelled all five attacks.
Nine boêzknen На took place in the Torets .komu direction. Russian forces tried to storm the positions of Ukrainian units in the areas of Diliyivka, Toretsk, Scherbinivka, Oleksandro-Kalinovy and Rusynoy Yar. There is currently a fight going on.
In the Pokrovsky direction from the beginning of the day, Russian forces attacked 29 times in the areas of Poltavka, Boikivka, Mykolaivka, Novoekonomíchny, Rodinsky, Sukhetsky, Fox, Reserve, Zvirovogo, Kotlinogo, Lucky, Green Corner and Nut. Ukrainian defenders hold the pressure of the Russian opponent, the fights are still on.
According to preliminary data, in this direction 174 Russian invaders, of which 122 - irrevocably. Also destroyed the cannon, eight cars, 32 BPLAs, two satellite terminals and two BPLA control points. There are also four vehicles, three artillery systems and 11 shelters for personnel.
In the Novopavlivsky direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled ten Russian attacks in the areas of Philia, Tovstoy, Green Field, Free Field, Komyshuvakhi, Voskresenki and in the direction of Novoivanivka. Two more fights are underway.
In the Gulyaipil direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled a Russian assault near Malinivka.
In the Orihivsky direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks near Kamiansky and in the direction of Novodanilivka.
In the Pridniprovsk direction, the Russian enemy did not carry out offensive actions.
In other directions, there have been no significant changes in the environment.
