Russo-Ukraine War - 22 October 2025 - Day 1337

A number of claims and counterclaims are being made on the Ukraine-Russia conflict on the ground and online. While GlobalSecurity.org takes utmost care to accurately report this news story, we cannot independently verify the authenticity of all statements, photos and videos.

On 24 February 2022, Ukraine was suddenly and deliberately attacked by land, naval and air forces of Russia, igniting the largest European war since the Great Patriotic War. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "special military operation" (SVO - spetsialnaya voennaya operatsiya) in Ukraine in response to the appeal of the leaders of the "Donbass republics" for help. That attack is a blatant violation of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Putin stressed that Moscow's goal is the demilitarization and denazification of the country. The military buildup in preceeding months makes it obvious that the unprovoked and dastardly Russian attack was deliberately planned long in advance. During the intervening time, the Russian government had deliberately sought to deceive the world by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

"To initiate a war of aggression... is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole." [Judgment of the International Military Tribunal]

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 111 combat clashes have taken place since the beginning of the day.

The Russian enemy launched one rocket and 62 aviation strikes, using 28 missiles and dropping 98 controlled aviation bombs. Also used 3337 kamikaze drones for strikes, carried out 3311 shells of settlements and positions of Ukrainian troops.

Ukrainian defenders repelled four Russian attacks in the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursky directions. The Russian enemy launched four airstrikes, dropped 12 controlled airstrikes and carried out 145 shells, nine of the reactive systems of assault-fire.
In the South Slobozhansky direction, Ukrainian units prevented six Russian attacks near Vovchansky, Bologivka, Stroivka, Kamyanka and Kolodyazny, two more clashes are ongoing.
In the Kupians паkomu direction, Ukrainian warriors repelled three Russian attacks in the areas of Pi Наany, Petropavlivka and Kupiansk, currently two combatants continue.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers stopped four assault actions of Russian zagarbnikív near the settlements of Drobisheve and Derylove.
In the Slovak direction, the Russian opponent tried to attack eight times in the areas of Serebryanka, Siverska, Viymki and Fedorivka.
In the kramators ваkomu direction at the moment the Russian offensive actions is not recorded.
In the Konstantinivsky direction, the Russian occupiers today stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders 10 times in the areas of the settlements of Pleshiyivka, Rusin Yar, Sofiyivka and Scherbinivka. Defense forces have steadily suppressed the pressure and repelled nine Russian attacks, currently fighting is being sharpened in one location.
During the current day in the Pokrovsky direction, the Russian enemy committed 40 offensive actions. The activity of Russian occupiers was fixed near the settlements of Vladimirivka, Mirnograd, Novoekonomíchne, Red Leeman, Nikanorivka, Rodinske, Romin, Novopavlivka, Pokrovsk, Kotline, Udaachne, Molodetske, Zvirove, Dachne, Philia and in the direction of Grishiny. The two clashes are still ongoing.
Today in this direction, according to preliminary data, 87 Russian invaders, of which 62 - irrevocably. In addition, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 12 unmanned aircraft, three BPLA antennas, two units of automobile and three units of special equipment of the occupiers. Ukrainian soldiers also hit an artillery system, four vehicles units, a special equipment unit and ten shelters for personnel.
In the Oleksandrivsky direction, Ukrainian units repelled 16 attacks in areas of settlements Andriyivka-Klevtsove, Sosnivka, Verbove, Privilne, Novovasilivka, Oleksandrograd and Novogrigorivka. Two more clashes are underway.
Ukrainian soldiers repelled the attack of the Russian invaders near Malinivka in the direction of Gulyaipils Наkomu. Aviation strikes suffered rivnopíllâ, gulyajpole, uspenívka, zaliznyčne and malinívka.
In the Orihívs діkomu direction, the Russian enemy twice tried to go ahead at the position of Ukrainian units in the areas of Novodanilívka and Stepovoye. The airstrike was hit by Zaporizhia
In the Pridniprovsky direction, the Russian enemy tried to approach the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the direction of the Antonivsky Bridge three times. The Russian invaders launched an air strike on Olgivka.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that in response to terrorist attacks launched by Ukraine against civilian objects on the territory of Russia, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation delivered a massive strike with long-range, ground- and air-based high-precision weapons including Kinzhal hypersonic air-launched ballistic missiles as well as attack unmanned aerial vehicles against energy infrastructure facilities that supported the Ukrainian defence industry.

Targets of the strike were hit. All the objects were neutralised.

The Sever Group of Forces improved the tactical situation. Russian troops inflicted fire damage on one jaeger brigade, two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, three territorial defence and Special Operations Forces' brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Khrapovshchina, Kondratovka, Khoten, Leninskoye, Novaya Sech, Varachino (Sumy region), Novosyolovka, and Novgorod-Seversky (Chernigov region).

In Kharkov direction, Russian troops hit units of one mechanised brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Volchansk (Kharkov region).

The AFU losses were up to 180 troops, one armoured fighting vehicle, 13 motor vehicles, one electronic warfare station, and three materiel depots.

The Zapad Group of Forces' units took more advantageous lines and positions. Russian troops delivered strikes at manpower and hardware of two mechanised brigades, one assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and one territorial defence brigade near Shiykovka, Novosergeyevka, Petropavlovka, Kupyansk (Kharkov region), Maslyakovka, and Yampol (Donetsk People's Republic).

The enemy losses were up to 230 troops, three armoured fighting vehicles, 14 motor vehicles, and one 122-mm D-30 howitzer. In addition, nine electronic warfare stations and three ammunition depots were neutralised.

The Yug Group of Forces' units improved the situation along the front line. Russian troops hit four mechanised brigades, one air mobile brigade, one mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two territorial defence brigades, and one National Guard brigade near Seversk, Fedorovka, Vasyukovka, Pazeno, Dronovka, Nikolayevka, Stepanovka, and Ivanopolye (Donetsk People's Republic).

The enemy losses were up to 220 troops, three tanks, one armoured fighting vehicle, 10 motor vehicles, and three field artillery guns including one U.S.-made 155-mm Paladin self-propelled artillery system. In addition, four materiel depots were neutralised.

As a result of resolute actions, units of the Tsentr Group of Forces liberated Ivanovka (Dnepropetrovsk region).

Russian troops launched attacks on manpower and hardware of seven mechanised brigades, two air assault brigades, one assault brigade, one jaeger brigade, two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two marine brigades, and three National Guard brigades close to Grishino, Sergeyevka, Kucherov Yar, Nikolaipolye, Toretskoye, Belitskoye, Dimitrov, and Krasnoarmeysk (Donetsk People's Republic).

The AFU losses were more than 520 troops, one U.S.-made HMMWV armoured vehicle, and two pickup trucks.

The Vostok Group of Forces' units continued to advance into the depths of enemy defences and liberated Pavlovka (Zaporozhye region).

Russian troops inflicted fire damage on formations of three mechanised brigades, three assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and one territorial defence brigade near Aleksandrovka, Orestopol, Alekseyevka (Dnepropetrovsk region), Rybnoye, Novouspenovskoye, Zeleny Gai, and Vishnevoye (Zaporozhye region).

The enemy losses were more than 315 troops, three armoured fighting vehicles, five motor vehicles, two artillery guns, and two electronic warfare stations.

Units of the Dnepr Group of Forces inflicted fire damage on manpower and hardware of two mechanised brigades, two coastal defence brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and one territorial defence brigade close to Stepnogorsk, Novoandreyevka (Zaporozhye region), Nikolskoye and Antonovka (Kherson region).

In addition, up to 60 troops, one tank, one armoured fighting vehicle, 11 motor vehicles, one electronic warfare station, and one POL depot were neutralised.

Operational-Tactical Aviation, attack unmanned aerial vehicles, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces inflicted fire damage on an assembly workshop of an enterprise, which produced military products, oil refinery and transport infrastructure that supported actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as well as temporary deployment areas of Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries in 144 districts.

Air defence systems shot down one Su-27 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force, four cruise missiles, three guided aerial bombs, four U.S.-made HIMARS MLRS projectiles, and 224 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, the enemy has lost 668 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 91,690 unmanned aerial vehicles, 633 anti-aircraft missile systems, 25,616 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,605 MLRS combat vehicles, 30,705 field artillery guns and mortars, and 44,572 special military vehicles.
