Russo-Ukraine War - 07 June 2024 - Day 835

A number of claims and counterclaims are being made on the Ukraine-Russia conflict on the ground and online. While GlobalSecurity.org takes utmost care to accurately report this news story, we cannot independently verify the authenticity of all statements, photos and videos.

On 24 February 2022, Ukraine was suddenly and deliberately attacked by land, naval and air forces of Russia, igniting the largest European war since the Great Patriotic War. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "special military operation" (SVO - spetsialnaya voennaya operatsiya) in Ukraine in response to the appeal of the leaders of the "Donbass republics" for help. That attack is a blatant violation of the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Putin stressed that Moscow's goal is the demilitarization and denazification of the country. The military buildup in preceeding months makes it obvious that the unprovoked and dastardly Russian attack was deliberately planned long in advance. During the intervening time, the Russian government had deliberately sought to deceive the world by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

"To initiate a war of aggression... is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole." [Judgment of the International Military Tribunal]

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that so far, 85 combat clashes have taken place today. The Ukrainian military continues to decisively block the Russian occupiers' attempts to penetrate deep into Ukrainian territory, giving them an effective fire effect, exhaustion across the frontline of the battle confrontation.

The defense forces have hit 14 areas of concentration of Russian personnel, one point of control, ammunition warehouse and radio-electronic combat station since the beginning of this day.

During the day Russian zagarbniki launched on the territory of Ukraine two missiles with the use of six missiles and 39 aviation strikes with the use of 52 cabív, assigned 461 kamikadze drones. Russian forces also launched more than 2,450 shelling on positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements using artillery, mortars, firearms and armaments of fighting vehicles.
In the Kharkiv direction, there were two unsuccessful Russian attacks in the area of vovčans Наka. The Defense Forces continue to take measures to strengthen defense positions and borders.
The previous Russian losses in this direction for today were 101 Russian occupants dead and injured. Destroyed five artillery systems, 41 bpla, seven cars and a launching device for bpla. In addition, 31 blinds and ammunition storage were affected.
Eight combat clashes have taken place in the Kupians добиkomu direction since the beginning of the day. The Defense Forces successfully repelled seven Russian attacks in the areas of the settlements of Sinkivka, Pishnetia, Druzhelyubivka and Grekivka. The fight is ongoing in the Andriyivka area. The situation is under control.
In the Lyman direction, the number of battles increased to nine. Russian occupiers tried to advance in the areas of Terniv, Novosadov, Torsky and Serebryansky Forest. All attacks were repelled by Ukrainian defenders. A loss of positions is not allowed.
Throughout the day in the Sivers віkomu direction, Russian forces carried out two unsuccessful assault actions in the area of Bílogorivka. The situation is under control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
In the Kramatorsky direction, the Russian aggressor tried seven times to attack Ukrainian defenders in the areas of Kalinivka, Ivanivsky, Klishchievka, and Andriyivka. All attempts have been defeated.
The hottest situation remains in the Pokrovsky direction. Russia does not give up trying to find the weak points in Ukrainian defense, with continuous assault attempts to infiltrate Ukrainian troops' combat. Fights continue in the areas of novooleksandrivka, evgenivka and sokola. The Defense Forces are taking measures to stabilize the situation and prevent Russian forces from advancing.
Previously, the Russian aggressor's losses in this direction were almost 200 invaders killed and injured. Destroyed three combat armored cars, three cars and a special equipment unit.
In the Kurakhiv direction at this time of the day the number of combat clashes increased to 16. Zagarbniki are trying to move near the settlements of Nevelske, Karlivka, Krasnogorivka, Georgiyivka and Paraskoviyvka. 13 Russian attacks were successfully repelled by the Defense Forces. Fights are ongoing in the areas of Krasnogorívka and Paraskovíivka. The situation is intense. Measures are being taken to prevent Russian advancement.
In the Vremívs завkomu direction, Russian forces tried to tie battles near Urožaynogo and Staromayors міkogo. The assault actions of the Russian occupiers have failed. Defense forces are under control.
In the Orihiv direction, the Russian aggressor four times attacked Ukrainian units near the settlements of Kopani and Mala Tokmachka. Never been successful.

In other directions, the situation has not changed significantly.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that from 1 to 7 June 2024, in response to the Kiev regime's attempts to hit Russian power facilities, the Russian Armed Forces carried out 27 group strikes by ground-, air-, and sea-based precision weapons, as well as strike drones, during which the Russian Armed Forces engaged power facilities that supported the work of enterprises of the Ukrainian military industrial enterprises.

In addition, the strikes hit depots of Western weapons and ammunition, missile and artillery equipment, uncrewed vessels, temporary deployment areas of AFU troops and mercenaries. The goal of the strikes have been achieved. All the assigned targets have been engaged.

The Sever Group of Forces continued advancing to the depths of the enemy's defence and inflicted damage on manpower and hardware of seven formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as on one marine brigade, as well as on the two territorial defence brigades. Thirty-six counter-attacks of AFU assault groups were repelled during the week.

The enemy losses were up to 1,400 troops, five tanks, 11 armoured fighting vehicles, including one Stryker armoured personnel carrier, and two U.S.-made M113 armoured personnel carriers, 32 motor vehicles, as well as 26 field artillery guns.

The Zapad Group of Forces has taken more advantageous lines over the past week. Strikes were delivered at units of the four mechanised, one tank, and one airmobile brigades of the AFU, two territorial defence brigades, and two Ukrainian National Guard brigades.

Eleven counter-attacks launched by AFU units were repelled. The AFU losses amounted to up to 2,850 Ukrainian troops, two tanks, 19 armoured fighting vehicles, 34 motor vehicles, and 25 field artillery guns.

Over the past week, the Yug Group of Forces has improved the situation along the front line, liberated Paraskoviyevka (Donetsk People's Republic), and hit manpower and hardware of 14 AFU formations.

The enemy suffered losses of up to 2,835 Ukrainian troops, 14 armoured fighting vehicles, 29 motor vehicles, 35 field artillery guns, including 13 Western-made guns, as well as one Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled artillery system. Seven AFU ammunition depots have been eliminated.

During the week, the Tsentr Group of Forces carried on advancing into the depths of the enemy's defence and liberated Umanskoye (Donetsk People's Republic).

Strikes were delivered at nine AFU and Ukrainian National Guard units, and 39 counter-attacks of the enemy were repelled.

Over the past week, the enemy has suffered losses of up to 2,690 troops, two U.S.-made Abrams tanks, 14 armoured fighting vehicles, to include two U.S.-made Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, 21 motor vehicles, 62 field artillery guns, as well as one HIMARS MLRS combat vehicle.

The Vostok Group of Forces has improved the tactical situation and inflicted losses on the manpower and hardware of the two brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the two territorial defence brigades.

The AFU losses amounted to up to 935 Ukrainian troops, two tanks, seven armoured fighting vehicles, 37 motor vehicles, and ten field artillery guns.

The Dnepr Group of Forces has inflicted fire damage on manpower and hardware of three marine brigades, one mechanised, one infantry, and one mountain assault brigades, one territorial defence brigade, and formations of the Ukrainian National Guard over the past week.

The AFU losses amounted to up to 430 Ukrainian troops, three armoured fighting vehicles, 32 motor vehicles, and 24 field artillery guns.

Air defence systems have shot down two MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force, two Tochka-U operational-tactical missiles, two converted surface-to-surface guided missiles of the S-200 system, 17 French-made Hammer guided bombs, three U.S.-made Patriot missiles, three Neptune anti-ship missiles, 93 U.S.-made HIMARS, Czech-made Vampire, and Olkha projectiles, as well as 424 unmanned aerial vehicles.

In addition, one Su-25 ground-attack aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force was hit by a Lancet loitering munition.

Over the past week, 27 Ukrainian servicemen surrendered.

In total, 610 airplanes and 274 helicopters, 25,326 unmanned aerial vehicles, 528 air defence missile systems, 16,287 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,330 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 10,188 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 22,336 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.
