1st Brigade, 108th Division

During peacetime, 1st Brigade Drill Sergeants, supported by Company and Battalion training, administrative and logistical personnel, provide year round training in support of active Army BCT units, Army Reserve, National Guard, ROTC and JROTC units throughout Region C (North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Flrida, and Puerto Rico).

During summer and fall months, 1st Brigade training companies expand the Army's training base in order to train the increased number of soldiers entering Basic Combat Training (BCT). Each training company performs a two week portion of the 9 week BCT POI.

The Headquarters Headquarters Detachment for the 1st Brigade (BCT) is centrally located within the brigade amongst subordinate battalions in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The detachment is commanded by a company grade officer to support the brigade commander, brigade command sergeant major, and primary brigade staff functions throughout the year. While providing normal detachment support in both administrative and training tasks, the unit normally deploys to Fort Jackson, South Carolina for annual training.
