• 30 Dec 2002 - COALITION FORCES TARGET IRAQI AIR DEFENSE COMMUNICATIONS SITES AND MOBILE RADAR 30 Dec 2002-- In response to Iraqi threats against Coalition aircraft monitoring compliance of United Nations Security Council Resolutions over Southern Iraq, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target Iraqi military air defense communications facilities and an air defense mobile radar. The Coalition struck the communications facilities at approximately 2:30 p.m. EST; they struck the mobile radar at approximately 3:40 p.m. EST.
• 29 Dec 2002 - COALITION FORCES TARGET IRAQI MILITARY RADAR SITES 29 Dec 2002 -- In response to Iraqi acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring compliance of United Nations Security Council Resolutions over Southern Iraq, Operation Southern Watch Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target two Iraqi military radar sites. The sites were located near Ad Diwaniyah, approximately 75 miles south of Baghdad. The strikes occurred at approximately 7:40 a.m. EST.
• 27 Dec 2002 - COALITION FORCES TARGET IRAQI MILITARY COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS 27 Dec 2002 -- In response to Iraqi acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring compliance of United Nations Security Council Resolutions over Southern Iraq, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target an Iraqi military air defense command and control system which supported highly mobile surface-to-air (SAM) missile systems. The system was located near Al Kut, approximately 95 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strike occurred at approximately 2:00 p.m. EST
• 26 Dec 2002 - COALITION FORCES TARGET IRAQI MILITARY COMMUNICATION FACILITIES 26 Dec 2002 -- In response to Iraqi acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring compliance of United Nations Security Council Resolutions over Southern Iraq, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target Iraqi military command and control communication facilities. The facilities were located near Tallil, approximately 175 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strikes occurred at approximately 12:00 a.m. EST

The sites were located near An Nasiriyah and Al Basrah in southern Iraq. The strikes occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. EST.

The site was located south of Al Kut, approximately 100 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strike occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. EST.
• 16 Dec 2002 - COALITION FORCES TARGET IRAQI COMMUNICATION SITE 16 Dec 2002-- In response to Iraqi acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring compliance of United Nations Security Council Resolutions over Southern Iraq, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target an Iraqi communication site. The site was located south of Al Kut, approximately 100 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strike occurred at approximately 5:50 a.m. EST.
• 15 Dec 2002 - COALITION FORCES TARGET IRAQI MOBILE RADAR AND CABLE REPEATER SITES 16 Dec 2002-- In response to Iraqi acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring compliance of United Nations Security Council Resolutions over Southern Iraq, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target an Iraqi mobile radar and cable repeater sites. The targets were located near An Nasiriyah, approximately 100 miles southeast of Baghdad, and Al Basra, approximately 245 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strikes occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. EST.
• 14 Dec 2002 - COALITION FORCES TARGET IRAQI MILITARY AIR DEFENSE COMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES 14 Dec 2002 -- In response to Iraqi threats against Coalition aircraft monitoring compliance of United Nations Security Council Resolutions over Southern Iraq, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target multiple Iraqi military air defense communications facilities. The facilities were located near Al Kut, approximately 100 miles southeast of Baghdad; Qal'at Sukkar, approximately 170 miles southeast of Baghdad; and Al Amarah, approximately 165 miles east southeast of Baghdad. The strikes occurred at approximately 1 a.m. EST.
• 10 Dec 2002 - COALITION FORCES TARGET MOBILE SURFACE-TO-AIR MISSILE SYSTEM 10 Dec 2002-- In response to Iraqi threats against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target a mobile surface-to-air missile system. The SAM system was located south of Al Amarah, approximately 165 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strike occurred at approximately 6 a.m. EST. Target battle damage assessment is ongoing.
• 01 Dec 2002 - COALITION FORCES TARGET AIR DEFENSE COMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES 01 Dec 2002 -- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Northern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target Iraqi air defense facilities. The facilities were located between Tallil, 170 miles southeast of Baghdad and Al Basrah, approximately 240 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strikes occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. EST
• 23 Nov 2002 - COALITION FORCES TARGET IRAQI MOBILE RADAR SYSTEM 23 Nov 2002 -- In response to Iraqi hostile threats against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target a mobile radar system located south of Al Amarah. Al Amarah is approximately 165 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strike occurred at approximately 6 a.m. EST
• 22 Nov 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE IRAQI UNMANNED COMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES 22 Nov 2002-- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target unmanned communications facilities located south of Al Amarah. Al Amarah is approximately 165 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strike occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. EST.
• 21 Nov 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE IRAQI AIR DEFENSE RADAR 21 Nov 2002-- The radar was located near Ash Shuaybah, approximately 245 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strikes occurred at about 4:20 a.m. EST.

• 20 Nov 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE THREE IRAQ COMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES 20 Nov 2002-- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target three unmanned air defense communications facilities.
• 18 Nov 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE COMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES AND RADAR 18 Nov 2002 -- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target two air defense communications facilities and one air defense radar facility. One communication facility and the radar facility were located near Al Kut, approximately 100 miles southeast of Baghdad. The other air defense facility was located near Tallil, approximately 170 miles south southeast of Baghdad. The strikes occurred at about 3:00 p.m. EST

• 15 Oct 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE A COMMAND AND CONTROL COMMUNICATIONS FACILITY 22 Oct 2002-- In response to recent Iraqi hostile threats against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target an air defense communications facility near Al Jarrah, 90 miles southeast of Baghdad, and an air defense operations center near Tallil, 160 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strikes occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m. EDT.
• 15 Oct 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE A COMMAND AND CONTROL COMMUNICATIONS FACILITY 15 Oct 2002-- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target a command and control communications facility near Al Kut, approximately 100 miles southeast of Baghdad. • 11 Oct 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE MOBILE SURFACE-TO-AIR MISSILE SITE 11 Oct. 2002-- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike a mobile surface-to-air missile (SAM) missile site near Tallil, approximately 160 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strike occurred at about 9:18 a.m. EDT.
• 10 Oct 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE AIR DEFENSE RADAR AND SURFACE-TO-AIR MISSILE SITES 10 Oct 2002-- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike an Iraqi air defense radar site near Al Basrah, approximately 245 miles southeast of Baghdad. Coalition forces also targeted a surface-to-air missile (SAM) missile site near Tallil, approximately 160 miles southeast of Baghdad. Both strikes occurred at about 4 a.m. EDT.
• 03 Oct 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE MILITARY MOBILE RADAR 03 Oct 2002-- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike an Iraqi air defense sector headquarters and integrated operations center near Tallil, approximately 160 miles southeast of Baghdad, at 4:30 a.m. EDT.
• 01 Oct 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE MILITARY MOBILE RADAR 01 Oct 2002-- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike a military mobile radar near Al Kut, approximately 100 miles southeast of Baghdad, at 5:00 pm EDT.
• 28 Sept 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE IRAQI MOBILE RADAR, SURFACE-TO-AIR MISSLE SITES 28 Sept 2002-- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike a military mobile radar near Al Basrah, Iraq and a surface-to-air missile site near Qalat Sikur, Iraq at approximately 5 p.m. EDT.
• 27 Sept 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE IRAQI SURFACE-TO-AIR MISSLE SITES 27 Sept 2002-- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike a surface-to-air missile control radar and a surface-to-air missile launcher near Tallil and an air defense operations center near Al Amarah. Tallil is 170 miles south southeast of Baghd, and Al Amarah is 165 miles east southeast of Baghdad, at approximately 4:30 pm EDT.
• 26 Sept 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE IRAQI SURFACE-TO-AIR MISSLE SITES 26 Sept 2002-- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike two Iraqi surface-to-air missile sites near Qalat Sikur, approximately 130 miles southeast of Baghdad, and Tallil, approximately 170 miles southeast of Baghdad, at approximately 3:45 and 4:30 p.m. EDT.
• 25 Sept 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE IRAQI AIR DEFENSE FACILITIES 25 Sept 2002-- In response to Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike Iraqi air defense facilities near Al Kufa, approximately 80 miles south of Baghdad , and Al Basrah, approximately 245 miles southeast of Baghdad, at approximately 4:45 p.m. EDT.

• 06 Sept 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE ANTI-SHIP MISSILE FACILITY In response to recent Iraqi hostile threats against Coalition ships in the Arabian Gulf, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike a ground-launched anti-ship missile near Al Basrah, 245 miles southeast of Baghdad, at approximately 5:45 p.m. EDT.
• 05 Sept 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE AIR DEFENSE COMMAND AND CONTROL SITE In response to recent Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike an air defense command and control facility at a military airfield 240 miles west and slightly south of Baghdad, at approximately 2:30 a.m. EDT. Aircraft dropped precision-guided bombs on the H3 airfield. The strikes were carried out by nine American F-15 Strike Eagles and three RAF Tornado GR4 ground attack aircraft flying from Kuwait. The attack on the air defence command and control facility was the first time that a target in western Iraq had been attacked during the patrols of the southern no-fly zone. According to press reports, about 100 US and British aircraft took part in the attack, making it the biggest single operation over the country in four years.

• 29 August 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE MILITARY RADAR SYSTEM In response to recent Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike a military radar system near Al Kut, 150 miles southeast of Baghdad, at approximately 3:45 p.m. EDT.
• 27 August 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE IRAQI MILITARY COMMAND AND CONTROL FACILITY Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons to strike an air defense command and control facility near An Nukhayb in southern Iraq, approximately 2:30 a.m. EDT. As of this date there there had been more than 120 separate incidents of Iraqi surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft artillery fire directed against Coalition aircraft.
• 25 August 2002 - COALITION FORCES STRIKE AIR DEFENSE RADAR SYSTEMS Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons to strike two air defense radar systems near Al Basrah in southern Iraq, approximately 2:30 a.m. EDT.
• 20 Aug 2002 -- COALITION FORCES STRIKE IRAQI MILITARY COMMAND AND CONTROL FACILITY Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons to target an air defense command and control facility near Al Amarah, approximately 120 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strike occurred at approximately 1:40 a.m. EDT. This calendar year there have been more than 110 separate incidents of Iraqi surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft artillery fire directed against Coalition aircraft.
• 17 Aug 2002 -- COALITION FORCES STRIKE IRAQI MOBILE RADAR UNIT In response to recent Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target a mobile radar unit in southern Iraq at approximately 6:30 a.m. EDT.
• COALITION FORCES STRIKE IRAQI AIR DEFENSE SYSTEMS August 14, 2002 -- In response to recent Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike two military air defense systems in southern Iraq at approximately 5:00 p.m. EDT.

The strike occurred at approximately 1 a.m., EDT.

The strike occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. EDT.

• COALITION FORCES STRIKE IRAQI COMMUNICATION FACILITIES July 18, 2002 -- In response to recent Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike a military cable repeater station in southern Iraq at approximately 5 p.m. EDT.
• COALITION FORCES STRIKE MOBILE RADAR UNIT July 15, 2002 -- In response to Iraqi threats against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used a precision-guided weapon yesterday to strike a mobile radar unit associated with a mobile surface-to-air missile launcher in southern Iraq. The strike occurred at approximately 1:25 p.m. EST.

• COALITION STRIKES IRAQI OFFENSIVE MILITARY AIR DEFENSE SITE June 20 2002 -- In response to Iraqi attacks on Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone today, aircraft from Operation SOUTHERN WATCH used precision-guided weapons today to strike facilities of a military command and control center at approximately 5:30 a.m. EDT.
• COALITION STRIKES IRAQI OFFENSIVE AIR SITE June 14, 2002 -- In response to Iraqi attacks on Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone yesterday, aircraft from Operation SOUTHERN WATCH used precision-guided weapons today to strike facilities of an offensive command and control system at approximately 5:20 a.m. EDT.

• COALITION AIRCRAFT STRIKE INTEGRATED AIR DEFENSE SYSTEM May 24, 2002 -- In response to recent Iraqi hostile acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike three components of an offensive integrated air defense system in southern Iraq at approximately 3:50 p.m. EDT today. This was the fourth verified attempt by Iraq to destroy a Coalition aircraft in the last 17 days.
• COALITION FORCES STRIKE TWO IRAQI ANTI-AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS May 22, 2002 -- Iraqi air defenses again fired upon Coalition aircraft at approximately 3:15 p.m. EDT today. (...) In response, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons to strike an offensive aircraft and missile control center in southern Iraq at approximately 5:15 p.m. EDT. Coalition aircraft also struck an anti-aircraft missile system south of the 32nd parallel at approximately 5:15 p.m. EDT.
• COALITION FORCES STRIKE AIRCRAFT DETECTION SITE IN IRAQ May 20, 2002 --Yesterday, Iraqi air defenses targeted Coalition aircraft at approximately 4:30 p.m. EDT. This was the second attempt to destroy a Coalition aircraft within the last 12 days. In response, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft, monitoring the Southern No-Fly Zone, used precision-guided weapons to strike an aircraft direction-finding site in southern Iraq at approximately 6:30 pm EDT.
• COALITION FORCES STRIKE AIRCRAFT DETECTION SITE IN IRAQ JANUARY 24, 2002 -- In response to hostile Iraqi threats against Coalition pilots and aircrews conducting routine monitoring of the Southern No-Fly Zone, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to strike an anti-aircraft artillery site in southern Iraq at approximately 7:20 a.m EST.
