SUBCOURSE OVERVIEW

This subcourse is designed to teach about the procedures for defensive electronic warfare (EW). It provides techniques for anti-electronic countermeasures (anti-ECM) and anti-electronic warfare support measures (anti-ESM). It identifies sources of electromagnetic interference and defines staff responsibility for electronic counter-countermeasures (ECCM).

The prerequisite for this subcourse is that you are a graduate of the Signal Officer Basic Course or its equivalent.

This subcourse reflects the doctrine which was current at the time it was prepared. In your own work situation, always refer to the latest official publications.

Unless otherwise stated, the masculine gender of nouns and pronouns do not refer exclusively to men.

TERMINAL LEARNING OBJECTIVE

ACTION: Describe defensive EW, electromagnetic interference, anti-ECM and anti-ESM procedures, and staff responsibiity for ECCM.

STANDARD: To demonstrate competence on this subcourse, a minimum of 70 percent must be achieved.
