359th Transportation Battalion
The 359th Transportation Battalion is an Army Reserve unit at Fort Eustis, Va. The first active-duty officer took over command of a U.S. Army Reserve battalion, marking what officials said was a major step toward integration of the active and reserve components. Since 1996, three National Guard battalions have received active-component commanders, but officials said Lt. Col. Thomas Roxberry is the first in the Army Reserve. Roxberry assumed command of the 359th Transportation Battalion, an Army Reserve unit located at Fort Eustis, Va., in an 03 October 1997 ceremony.
The 359th Battalion's 680th LARC Co is converting to a causeway company in FY03.
