Musudan-ri/Musudan-ni Missile Test Facility

Imagery 23-24 March 2009

New imagery of the Musudan-ri Missile Test Site showed some ground vehicle activity. There was nothing specifically that confirmed the North Korean launch date range of 4-8 April 2009. It was possible that new imagery of the launch site could have shown additional progress. There could also have been no further imagery indication launch preparations. It was also possible that the only news of a launch would be imagery released by North Korea on its public website of the launch after the fact.

On the 24 March 2009, gaps in the shadows of the upper service levels indicated possible activity. NBC News, reported on 25 March 2009 that US officials said that North Korea positioned 2 lower missile stages on the launch pad.
