- Tracking the Inspections 20 December 2002 RFE/L 20 Dec 2002 -- Two groups totaling 10 inspectors returned to the Al-Tuwaythah site (Tuwaythah Industrial Chemical Research Center), inspecting the "French and Italian projects," the "Russian reactor," and the Al-Shaykhali warehouses, according to the Foreign Ministry.

- COALITION FORCES TARGET IRAQI AIR DEFENSE COMMUNICATION FACILITIES 20 Dec 2002-- In response to Iraqi acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring compliance of United Nations Security Council Resolutions over Southern Iraq, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target two Iraqi air defense communication facilities. The sites were located near An Nasiriyah and Al Basrah in southern Iraq. The strikes occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. EST.
