50th Operations Support Squadron [50th OSS]
The mission of the 50th OSS is to provide mission-ready personnel and mission essential resources to DoD's largest composite satellite wing, ensuring continuous global space superiority.
The 50th Operations Support Squadron is a component of the 50th Operations Group, 50th Space Wing, Schriever Air Force Base, CO. The squadron was activated on January 30, 1992.
Directs space superiority operations of Department of Defense's largest satellite composite wing with eight squadrons operating 140 plus satellites and global network of command, control and communications facilities worth over $46 billion. Manages and conducts training programs ensuring combat readiness of 500-person crewforce. Implements space weapons and tactics program, while overseeing space modernization and upgrades. Provides intelligence support and weather services for all wing operations.
Approximately 116 active duty Air Force and Department of Defense civilians are assigned to the 50th Operations Support Squadron.
