50th Operations Support Squadron - Weather Flight

The weather flight has a three-fold mission. It conducts continuous environmental operations in support of 50th Space Wing units; provides 50th SW leadership a situational awareness for 50th SW geographically separated units; and assumes the role of a combat weather team in providing resource protection for Schriever AFB.

The unit's customers include all 50th SW units, tenant units, and GSUs. The flight provides pre-mission, wing stand-up, pre-deployment, and battlestaff briefings as well as annual space environment operator training. The flight performs "quick-turn" satellite anomaly assessments, giving the affected crews a "quick-look" as to whether the space environment could have caused or contributed to a particular anomaly.
