Russo-Ukrainian War - 18 March 2025 - Day 1119

In Kursk, Russian forces have successfully pushed Ukrainian units out. Continued pressure on the flanks of the incursion ultimately forced the withdrawal. While some Ukrainian elements may still be present in the forests to the south, the incursion can largely be considered over. In the Velyka Novosilka area, Russian forces have continued their advance north and west, capturing Dniproenerhiia, Skudne, Burlatsk, and Novosilka, while entering Pryvline. After a largely unchanging for some time there has been movement on the Zaporizhzhia frontline. Russian troops have made progress, retaking positions south of Piatykhatky and entering Mali Shcherbaky. Near Chasiv Yar, Russian forces have continued their advances, consolidating positions along the canal southeast of the town. The situation in Toretsk remains complex. It has become clear that Russian control in the city is less robust than previously assessed. Much of the city is now considered contested. Ukraine has been able to reclaim control in the south. Ukrainian advances have been confirmed around the city of Pokrovsk, with partial control regained over Lysivka and the likely recapture of Schvchenko. Further south, Russia has secured the western half of Andriivka and taken full control of Kotiantynopil. West of Ivanivka, Russian troops have secured additional positions near the Ukrainian line of fortifications. Russian forces have also advanced west of Bilohorivka, reaching the border of Luhansk Oblast. An overview map of the situation in Ukraine as of 18 March 2025.
