BMP-3 Manul infantry fighting vehicle

"Manul" is a deep modernization of the BMP-3 with the Boomerang-BM module turret. This design differs from the "traditional" BMP-3 in that the engine compartment (MTO) is located in front. The degree of unification with the BMP-3 is about 50%. The BMP uses a promising uninhabited combat module TKB-945, which is used on the Kurganets-25 and Boomerang medium tracked and wheeled platforms, as well as on the T-15 Armata heavy infantry fighting vehicle. It is armed with a 30-mm automatic cannon, a 7.62-mm machine gun, and the Kornet anti-tank complex capable of destroying all existing tanks in the world. Modern sights allows detecting the enemy at any time of the day. The number of troops increased to 8 people.

It was reported that "Manul" is a transitional model between already in service with infantry fighting vehicles and armored vehicles of the next generation, this Russian development is in no way inferior to the best foreign models, and surpasses them in a number of characteristics. Holding "High-precision complexes" and KurganMashzavod under the slogan "Close to the next generation" presented one of their latest developments - a modernized version of the well-proven BMP-3 with protection and combat equipment actually from the next generation BMP based on the medium tracked platform "Kurganets- 25 ".

The Russian Manul infantry fighting vehicle became one of the sensations of the Army-2020 International Military-Technical Forum, More than one and a half thousand organizations and defense enterprises demonstrated exhibits at the international military-technical forum "Army-2020" in August 2020. The High-Precision Complexes holding showed a new Manul infantry fighting vehicle (BMP) , aimed primarily at export customers. As Sergei Abdulov, the chief designer of the Special Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering of the Rostec High-Precision Complexes holding, told TASS, there is a tendency for [the landing] to come out in the aft section, that is, through the rear ramp, the car is made with it in mind, the engine compartment is located in front ". In the basic version, "Manul" is equipped with such a "Boomerang" module with a 30-mm cannon and four guided missiles.

The Manul, also a pallas cat ( Latin Otocolobus manul ), is a predatory mammal of the feline family. It is similar in appearance and size to a domestic cat, but differs in a shorter and more massive body and legs. Pallas' cat is well camouflaged and adapted to the cold continental climate and to conditions where there is a large range of temperatures. When irritated, Pallas' cat growls hoarsely or snorts, but can purr like a domestic cat when petted. Pallas' images are found on stamps and coins of various countries. For example, in 2016, Russia issued commemorative coins in the Red Book series dedicated to Pallas' cat. In addition, the Pallas' cat is a symbol of the Moscow Zoo.

This infantry fighting vehicle combines the developments used on new modifications of the BMP-3, in particular, the front-mounted UTD-32 engine of increased power. The maximum speed on the highway is 70 km / h, 55 km / h on a dirt road and 9.5 km / h afloat. The big advantage is that the designers have equipped the chassis with an information and control system, which not only informs the driver about problems that arise during operation, but also gives recommendations on how to eliminate them.

This novelty, if necessary, can become the basis for a large family of various military and auxiliary equipment. For example, in addition to the BMP, the appearance of an armored personnel carrier, various self-propelled artillery installations, including anti-tank, evacuation tractors, reconnaissance and engineering vehicles, is possible.
