ARC Cable Repair Ship - Pr. 1122 / 1275 Biryusa
Crimean cable layers must replace ships that are part of the domestic fleet for more than 30 years. For example, the large cable vessel Inguri was launched in 1977, and the small vessel Biryusa of project 1275 in 1985. All cable layers of these projects are built in Finland.
Manufacturers of underwater equipment may face an unexpected obstacle that can significantly delay the commissioning of new sonar systems. “Indeed, now work is underway to improve existing submarine stations, experimental design work is being carried out as part of new developments. In this context, another serious problem has become urgent - the lack of suitable cable vessels, killer systems for laying any systems. For example, the Pacific Fleet remains only one such ship is the old Biryusa,” said a source of Military.RF.
