OPV2020
Designed as the successor of Fassmer´s highly reputed OPV 80, the OPV2020 concept is an innovative patrol vessel with design fl exibility to match a wide range of threats and missions. The OPV2020 is powered by a fully optimized all-electrical propulsion plant for maximum operational fl exibility combined with fuel eÿ ciency and minimized NOx and CO2 emissions, in line with forthcoming environmental regulations. The vessel can operate in dual fuel mode, producing extremely low emissions while running on LNG and allowing operations in remote areas using DMFO.
Furthermore, mission performance is improved by a platform capable of handling up to 9 mission modules that can be comprehensively integrated into the platform including connection to the vessel administrative and mission networks. The deployment of boats, helicopters, AUVs, AAVs and other vehicles convert the OPV2020 into a mother ship within the mission scenario. The OPV2020 is also designed to contribute to mine warfare and ASW missions through modular payload. The OPV2020 is a novel concept based on existing, proven technologies that are commercially available off the shelf.
