Combat Air Command No 5 (Comando Aereo De Combate No 5)
CACOM-5 is located at the "GR. Arturo Lema Posada" air base in Rio Negro, Colombia (southeast of Medellin). Air Group 61, with just one tactical air squadron (611), falls under its command. Squadron 611 is equipped with UH-60 helicopters.
Colombia became the UH-60's first Latin American client when it acquired 6 in 1987. The UH-60 has become the FAC's principal attack helicopter- carrying out troop transport/troop insertion and attack missions.
