Combat Air Command No 4 (Comando Aereo De Combate No 4)
CACOM-4 is located at the "Capitan Teniente Coronel Luis Francisco Pinto Parra" air base in Melgar-Tolima, Colombia. It was established in 1954 and became the FAC's first helicopter base. It aslo initially served as the site of the FAC's helicopter flight school.
The base continues to be the FAC's principal helicopter base, responsible for carrying out search and rescue missions, training, transportation, air support, and other air operations. Reflecting its important role, CACOM-4 is comprised of 2 transport squadrons, 2 helicopter squadrons (tactical), and 1 training squadron.
