AL201 Army comprehensive training ship

The surface ship "AL201" is a training ship of the Chinese Army, first seen publicly in late 2013. It is attached to the Zhenjiang Boat Academy and is mainly used to provide training platforms for the Army and Air Force ship driving arms. Judging from the ship's number, the ship does not belong to the Chinese naval battle sequence. The Marine Police Type 718 patrol ship may be the parent design. It can be seen that the ship has a certain firepower configuration, and there are four machine guns towards the bow and stern.

In May 2011, an article was published on the website of Dalian Shipyard, which recorded the contract signing ceremony for a newly developed “integrated training ship” in December 2010. Not long ago, another new type of transport ship was listed in the Chinese Army. Many people have linked these changes to the Diaoyu Islands situation and to Taiwan. As China's maritime forces continue to grow, the activities of the Army's forces on the sea seem to be gradually strengthening. The Chinese People's Liberation Army has long had a fleet of medium-sized, flat-bottom landing ships and amphibious assault ships to complement the large naval ships. China is strengthening its ability to compete for disputed islands in the East China Sea and the South China Sea.
