  • General Dynamics Awarded $49 Million Contract for Field Service Support General Dynamics 25 Aug 2011 -- The U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command has awarded a USD$49.2 million contract to General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada for training and field service support for Light Armored Vehicles (LAV) previously supplied under a Foreign Military Sale (FMS) contract. General Dynamics Land Systems, the Canadian company’s parent corporation, is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).
  • Lockheed Martin to Integrate TRADOC Architecture Under New $26.1M Contract Lockheed Martin 25 Aug 2011 -- Lockheed Martin’s (NYSE: LMT) IS&GS-Defense product line will provide a host of new enterprise architecture services to the U.S. Army under a recent $26.1 million contract.
  • SAIC Awarded $45 Million Task Order by NAVAIR SAIC 25 Aug 2011 -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced it was awarded a follow-on task order by U.S. Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) to provide technical, engineering, and logistics support to NAVAIR's Air Combat Electronics Program Office (PMA-209). The contract has a base period and five one-year options which, if fully exercised, will total five years of performance, and a total value of more than $45 million, if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily at NAVAIR's Naval Air Station in Patuxent River, Md. The task order was awarded under the U.S. Navy's SeaPort-e contract.
  • Royal Navy helicopters ‘bag’ Afghan drugs Thales 25 Aug 2011 -- In recent operations in Afghanistan, Royal Navy Sea King Airborne Surveillance & Control (ASaC) helicopters – fitted with Thales UK’s powerful Searchwater 2000 airborne early warning radar – have helped seize and destroy over five tons of drugs with a ‘street value’ of more than £6m.
