- ATK SADARM Smart Munition Hardware Performs Successfully in U.S. Army Reliability Tests ATK 10 Apr 2000 -- ATK (Alliant Techsystems) (NYSE: ATK) said the hardware it provides for the Sense and Destroy Armor (SADARM) precision artillery munition performed successfully during Reliability Determination/Assurance Program (RDAP) technical tests, which were completed in March at the U.S. Army's Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona.
- Boeing Sikorsky Comanche Passes Major Milestone Review Boeing 10 Apr 2000 -- The Boeing Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche program won approval April 4 to begin its $3.1 billion engineering and manufacturing development phase. The new U.S. Army Aviation Modernization Plan also has recommended acquisition of more than 1,200 Comanche helicopters valued at nearly $34 billion over the production cycle of the program.
- Navy Awards Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems $6.4 Million Contract For Towed Arrays Lockheed Martin 10 Apr 2000 -- Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems (LMIS) announced that it has been awarded a $6.4 million contract from the U.S. Navy to commence production of the Navy's newest towed array sensor, designated the TB-29A.
- Lockheed Martin Wins Israeli F-15 Pilot Training Contract Lockheed Martin 10 Apr 2000 -- The Israeli Ministry of Defence has awarded Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems-Akron, a business unit of Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), a $22 million contract to deliver in 2001 a Flight and System Trainer (FST) for F-15 pilot training.
- Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems-Moorestown Receives $55m Installation And Test Award Lockheed Martin 10 Apr 2000 -- Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems (NE&SS)-Moorestown announced that it received a $55.4 million option to an existing contract from the U.S. Navy for installation, integration and test of four Aegis weapons systems in support of the Navy's Aegis program.
- Lockheed Martin Begins Fabrication of Airborne Laser Turret Lockheed Martin 10 Apr 2000 -- Lockheed Martin Space Systems, a member of Team Airborne Laser (ABL), has begun fabrication of the revolutionary, high-energy laser weapon system's turret assembly at its Sunnyvale, Calif., facility.
