The current award is an option to an existing contract between NE&SS-Moorestown and the Navy and covers ships DDG 85 to DDG 88. Total contract value with the award of this option is $96.7 million. Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) will administer the contract.
"Aegis continues to be a key program for the Navy and our region," said Fred P. Moosally, Vice President and General Manager of Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems-Moorestown. "We are pleased to be a key contributor to this important U.S. Navy effort."
NE&SS-Moorestown is the Aegis combat system engineering design agent responsible for the design and integration of a complete shipboard, multi-warfare combat system which encompasses all detection, command and control, weapon and support systems for the TICONDEROGA and ARLEIGH BURKE classes of Aegis guided missile cruisers and destroyers.
The Aegis weapon system is designed, produced and integrated into the combat system by NE&SS-Moorestown and is its core.
