Alfa Company, NMCB 27
Alfa Company is responsible for operating and maintaining Civil Engineering Support Equipment (CESE) for use in horizontal construction. CESE includes automotives, construction equipment (bulldozers, front-end loaders, rollers, scrapers, graders, dump trucks, etc.), weight handling equipment (cranes), and material handling equipment (forklifts).
It serves as prime contractor for large earthmoving, grading, excavation, paving, hauling, pile driving, well drilling, heavy lifting, blasting, and demolition projects. Its mission is to support Contingency Construction, Tactical Operations, Disaster Recovery, and Humanitarian Assistance.
On drill weekends, Alfa trains by operating and maintaining equipment and to defend its work and themselves if necessary. Training provides it the ability to mobilize for quick response to any type of contingency anywhere in the world.
During combat operations, Alfa Company is the primary security company. Its responsibilities include internal camp security, convoy security, and providing reactionary forces.
