MIUW Unit 108
The primary mission of each Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare (MIUW) unit 108 is to provide surface and subsurface surveillance in inshore areas throughout the world.
The MIUW unit also has a secondary mission capability in the area of Command, Control, and Communications functions.
With MIUW being a primary consideration in all joint and naval exercise planning, the units have participated in many complex scenarios including RIMPAC, Valiant Usher, and Cobra Gold. Additionally, the MIUW units support real-world littoral operations and are well known for their important role in Operation Desert Shield/Storm.
