Maritime Defense Zone Pacific,
The Commander US Maritime Defense Zone Pacific is responsible for force protection planning that supports operations in the CINCPAC Fleet area of responsibility.
Force protection planning includes Harbor Defense/Port Security (HDPS) and Coastal Sea Control (CSC) in the littoral areas of Korea and Southwest Asia. COMUSMARDEZPAC validates the effectiveness of operation plans by closely coordinating with U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard Type Commanders (TYCOMs) to ensure that force protection is an integral part of joint and combined exercises.
As such, COMUSMARDEZPAC will coordinate the support of Naval Coastal Warfare (NCW) requirements, validate NCW force requirements, maintain the Time Phased Force Deployment Data (TPFDD) for NCW forces, and validate and assess NCW mission requirements and doctrine.
COMUSMARDEZPAC has three principal activities: deliberate planning for CINC HDPS requirements, exercise coordination to validate the plans and established doctrine, domestic NCW operations protecting US Sea Ports of Embarkation (SPOEs).
