1-100th Regiment (Engineer)
The unit's mission is to train and qualify soldiers in the Engineer Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) in accordance with the high standards set by the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) and the US Army Engineer School (USAES), Ft. Leonard Wood, MO.
The First Battalion, Engineers, of the 100th Regiment Engineers (1-100 EN) reports , or is subordinate to the 3rd Brigade, Combat Support whose headquarters is in Huntsville, AL. The 1-100 EN headquarters is located in Knoxville, TN. The 1-100 carries out its mission in a four-state area by ensuring all instructors are certified and meet the high standards set by TRADOC and USAES. The 1-100 EN instructs in the states of AL, MS, TN, and KY. Once a year, typically in mid-late summer months, the 1-100 conducts its two-week annual training (A.T.) mission in Greenville, KY at the Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center and in Ft. Knox, KY. In the two-week A.T. period, Its instructors teach the "hands-on" MOS-specific portion of training, normally referred to as Phase II MOS-Q or MOS-Qualification. Once soldiers complete Phase I and II of their training, they are eligible to receive the award of an EN MOS or they are considered "Level 1 MOSQ'ed".
The 1-100 EN conducts Phase I training throughout the year, commonly referred to as Common Engineer Training (CET), at the following locations: Milan, TN, Kingsport, TN, Ft McClellan, AL, Huntsville, AL, Camp McCain, MS, Camp Shelby, MS, Blue Grass Army Depot, Richmond, KY.
