- SIMON - THE COSTS OF OVERLOOKING THE OTHER CHINA (Senate - November 30, 1994) For some time now, United States relations with Taiwan have lagged far behind the remarkable political and economic progress that country has made.
- FORD - THE TAIWAN RESOLUTION
(Senate - October 05, 1994) Resolved, That it is the sense of the Senate that United States policy toward Taiwan should welcome the President of the Republic of China on Taiwan and other high-level government officials to the United States.

- PELL - A ROLE FOR TAIWAN IN THE UNITED NATIONS (Senate - September 30, 1994) Tuesday Dr. Trong Chai came to Washington as part of a large Taiwanese delegation to the United States seeking support for Taiwanese membership in the United Nations.
- SENATE RESOLUTION 270--RELATIVE TO UNITED STATES RELATIONS WITH TAIWAN (Senate - September 28, 1994) In July 1993, the administration indicated that it was involved in an interagency review of United States policy toward Taiwan. It did not even make real changes to the policy, only adjustments.
- MURKOWSKI - TAIWAN POLICY (Senate - July 21, 1994) Taiwan deserves more diplomatic respect. It is an important, stable democratic, and loyal ally in the Asia-Pacific region.
- ROTH - TAIWAN'S MEMBERSHIP IN INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS (Senate - July 21, 1994) An important editorial appearing in last Saturday's New York Times calls for the admission of the Republic of China, more widely known as Taiwan, into the Asian Regional Forum. - FORD - UNITED NATIONS AND TAIWAN RESOLUTION (Senate - June 10, 1994) I ask unanimous consent that the Senate proceed to the immediate consideration of Calendar No. 438, Senate Resolution 148, a resolution relating to the participation of Taiwan in the activities of the United Nations, that the resolution be agreed to.
- MURKOWSKI - UNITED STATES POLICY TOWARD CHINA AND TAIWAN (Senate - May 19, 1994) Yesterday, as a further gesture of good will, Senator Brown and I sent President Lee an individual letter asking him to consider visiting the United States, specifically the States of Alaska and Colorado.
- MURKOWSKI - TAIWAN RELATIONS ACT AMENDMENT (Senate - May 02, 1994) I added an amendment to the State Department bill that reaffirmed the primacy of the Taiwan Relations Act, as the law of the land, over the 1982 Joint United States-China Communique--the Shanghai Communique--a statement of policy.
- COCHRAN - SALE OF DEFENSIVE ARMS TO TAIWAN (Senate - January 31, 1994) Section 3(a) of the Taiwan Relations Act states that `the United States will make available to Taiwan such defense articles and services in such quantity as may be necessary to enable Taiwan to maintain a self-defense capability.' I am concerned that the administration considers the 1982 Shanghai Communique to supersede the cited act of Congress.
