According to the Russian military, such companies operate under the guise of aviation of the international coalition led by the United States.

MOSCOW, July 29th. / Tass /. US private military companies (PMCs) totaling more than 3,500 people are robbing Syria’s oil facilities under the guise of coalition aviation. This was announced at a briefing at the Ministry of Defense by the Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Colonel-General Sergey Rudskoy.

"In addition to training militants, American structures in Syria are busy plundering oil facilities and deposits in Zaevfraty, which belong to the legitimate Syrian government. Recently, these facilities show an active increase in the number of employees of American private military companies. Today in Syria, the number of mercenaries of PMCs is over 3.5 thousand. ", said Rudskoy.

In particular, the general noted, organized the production and sale of Syrian oil from the fields of Conako, El-Omar and Tanak, located on the eastern bank of the Euphrates. "There is a criminal scheme for the cross-border supply of Syrian oil. The looting of the national wealth of Syria is simply happening," Rudskaya added.

According to him, a significant part of the proceeds from the smuggling of hydrocarbons is spent on the maintenance of illegal armed groups, bribing the sheikhs of Arab tribal unions and fomenting anti-government sentiments.

“All these activities of American PMCs are carried out under the guise of aviation of the international antiterrorist coalition. In fact, it represents a smuggling business taken by the Americans from ISIL

Rudskoy also noted that the continued supply of the United States in Zaevfrate weapons and military equipment also cause concern. "In exchange for assistance in smuggling oil, the United States is pumping weapons to both Kurdish and Arab forces, which then use it against each other," Rudskaya said, adding that "all this only aggravates the situation in the war-torn region."

Fighter training

The US military is training militants from different groups with a total of up to 2,700 people near the base of Al-Tanf, a representative of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces added.

“In the area of the 55-kilometer zone around Al-Tanfa, US instructors are training a large armed unit, Magavir al-Saura, and a number of small militant groups for the so-called Arab Army of the Tribes. The total number of militants reaches 2,700 people,” Rudskoy said bringing the footage from the drone.

He added that some of the militants who had been trained at Al-Tanf were being transferred by US Air Force helicopters in Zaevfratrae. "The most prepared saboteurs are sent to the territories controlled by the government troops to destabilize the situation and prevent the strengthening of the positions of the Syrian government there," the general noted.

Rudskoy said that the main tasks of the militants trained by the United States are sabotage, the destruction of the oil and gas infrastructure of Syria and the attacks against government forces. "The presence of such groups is noted in the areas of Essaouida, Palmyra and Bou-Kemal," he said.

The US military base near the settlement of Al-Tanf is located at the junction of the borders of Syria, Iraq and Jordan. The territory under its control includes a 55-kilometer zone around the city.
