- IRAQIS, U.S. FORCES FORM DYNAMIC CORDON AROUND FALLUJAH CENTCOM 16 Oct 2004 -- Iraqi special forces and elements of the I Marine Expeditionary Force formed a dynamic cordon around the city, on the morning of Oct. 15, by establishing vehicle control points to disrupt freedom of movement by fleeing anti-Iraqi forces.

- IRAQ /CHURCH ATTACKS VOA 16 Oct 2004 -- In an apparent coordinated attack, five churches in Baghdad were bombed Saturday morning. There were no reports of injuries, but some of the churches were damaged extensively. The attack occurred just as the Muslim holy month of Ramadan began.
- Iraq Car Bomb Kills 3 U.S. Troops RFE/RL 16 Oct 2004 -- The U.S. military said today a suicide car bomber killed three U.S. troops and an Iraqi civilian in an attack near Iraq's border with Syria.
