The trial and sentencing of Army Specialist Jeremy Sivits was conducted under legal procedures for addressing criminal offenses committed by those in the military.

  • U-N/IRAQ/HUMAN RIGHTS VOA 04 Jun 2004 -- A United Nations human rights report found serious violations by some U-S troops, including abuse of Iraqi detainees. The report calls for an international jurist to monitor respect for human rights in Iraq by the occupying coalition forces. Lisa Schlein reports from Geneva, headquarters of the U-N Human Rights Office, which has just issued the report.

  • IRAQ/WRAP VOA 04 Jun 2004 -- Iraq's new prime minister introduced himself to his countrymen in his first televised address to the nation since his appointment last week.
