- Defusing the North Korean Bomb VOA 28 Feb 2003 -- While the world is focused on the possibility of a war in Iraq, North Korea continues to try to ratchet up tensions in Asia. This week the communist regime Kim Jong Il test-fired a missile into the Sea of Japan, a day before the inauguration of new South Korean president Roh Moo Hyun. North Korea then announced that it expects to be attacked by the United Sates any day. All of this comes after October's revelation that North Korea has been violating a 1994 agreement to shut down its nuclear weapons program in exchange for Western aid. Since then, North Korea has quit the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and announced its plan to built intercontinental ballistic missiles. Most experts believe that North Korea already possesses at least two nuclear bombs. How can the North Korean nuclear threat be dealt with?
- KOREA/NUCLEAR VOA 28 Feb 2003 -- South Korea has confirmed North Korea's reactivation of a nuclear reactor that forms part of a possible nuclear weapons program. Seoul is expressing deep concern over the move and urging the North to comply with international non-proliferation accords.
- United States decides to donate food to DPRK KNCA 28 Feb 2003 -- The U.S. Government on Feb. 25 decided to donate 100,000 tons of food to the DPRK this year through the World Food Program.
- GNP urged to stop begging for U.S. Forces' continued presence KNCA 28 Feb 2003 -- The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration reportedly issued on Feb. 22 a statement titled "The Grand National Party begging for the U.S. Forces' continued presence in South Korea should cease to exist".
- DPRK vows to implement declaration of Copenhagen Summit on Social Development KNCA 28 Feb 2003 -- The DPRK Government will continue enforcing the advantageous social policies in the interests of the people and consolidating and developing them and promote the exchange of experience and effective cooperation with the international bodies and other countries and thus sincerely implement the target of the declaration adopted at the un new millennium summit and the declaration of the Copenhagen Summit Meeting on Social Development.

- More U.S. aerial espionage committed against DPRK KNCA 28 Feb 2003 -- The U.S. imperialist warhawks again let their strategic reconnaissance plane illegally intrude into the territorial air of the DPRK to spy on it on Feb. 26. RC-135 strategic reconnaissance plane that took off an overseas base made shuttle-flights in the air above the territorial waters in the East Sea of the DPRK between Musudan and Hodo peninsula for hours from about 8:25 on an espionage mission.
