Vietnamese People's Air Force - Order of Battle

This order of battle is surely only a partial listing. While there is general agreement among sources as to units and equipment, there is a glaring discrepancy between reported order of battle and reported equipment holdings. In the West, aviation squadrons typically have between one and two dozen aircraft. As recently as 2012, IISS reported 7 MiG-21 regiments with 140 aircraft, but the following year the numbers had dropped to 4 regiments with 33 aircraft. It would be pointless to attempt to reconcile the reliably reported single MiG-21 squadron with reported MiG-21 holdings ranging from 144 to 250 aircraft.
