Il-276 SVTS - Design

Il-276The Il-276 is a half-size derivative of the Il-76 / Il-476 - two engines rather than four, half the payload, but the same fuselage cross section and considerable system commonality.

The medium military transport aircraft Il-276 is designed for transportation and parachute landing of personnel, cargo and equipment on platforms. The aircraft provides transportation of goods weighing 20 tons for a distance of 2000 km from ground and artificial runways. The designed aircraft is made in a normal aerodynamic scheme with a high wing, a T-shaped tail unit and two turbojet engines placed on the pylons under the wing.

The SVTS / IL-276 project provides for the construction of a single-body high-wing with a T-tail. In terms of overall layout and aerodynamic appearance, the new aircraft will resemble existing aircraft of its class. The presence of a tail ramp will provide the possibility of loading and unloading on the ground, as well as parachute landing of cargo or people.

Under the wing on the pylons will be installed two turbojet engines with the required characteristics. The first version of the SVTS project envisages the use of the existing PS-90A-76 engine currently installed on the modernized IL-76. This engine has the necessary characteristics, and also reduces the risks of a technical nature. In the future, however, it is planned to replace PS-90A-76 engines with newer products of PS-14, which differ in other parameters. As soon as the new engines confirm their characteristics, their installation on serial aircraft will begin.

This military transport aircraft of a new type would receive a large cargo-passenger cabin. The dimensions of the payload compartment were determined taking into account the requirements of the armed forces and, in general, correspond to the characteristics of the Il-76 series vehicles. The cross-section of the aicraft does not change in comparison with the last, while the length will be slightly reduced. The IL-276 will be able to take on board up to 20 tons of payload. Depending on the configuration of the cargo compartment and the additional equipment used, it will have to carry cargo, machinery or people.

The plane is supposed to install two two-circuit turbojet engines PS-90A-76 with a maximum take-off thrust of 16 000 kgf. The concept of the avionics complex provides for the possibility of upgrading and enhancing functions through an open architecture. A single information and control " field " of the cockpit will combine six multifunction LCD displays and two LCD indicators on the windshield.

The dimensions of the section of the cargo-enclosed Il-276 cockpit are identical to those of the heavy IL-76MD military transport aircraft, which makes it possible to use all the existing infrastructure of loading, unloading, transportation and landing facilities. Provided autonomous (in isolation from the main airdrome of basing) solution of transportation tasks and preparation for departure by the forces of technical and flight crews.

IL-276 will be equipped with equipment on the Russian element base, from domestic components. The concept of the avionics complex (on-board radioelectronic equipment) provides for the possibility of upgrading and enhancing functions due to the open architecture. A single information and control "field" of the cockpit will combine six multifunction LCD displays and two LCD indicators on the windshield.

The dimensions of the section of the cargo compartment of the IL-276 are identical to those of the Il-76MD aircraft, which makes it possible to use all the existing infrastructure of loading, unloading, transportation and landing facilities. In the part of the handling equipment ( suspended lifting devices with electric drive , carts, ladder) - will be borrowed either from IL-76 or from IL-112.
