BT-3 Light Wheeled-and-tracked Tank
Under the designation BT-3, there was the BT-2 tank with a slightly modified turret structure and continuous rollers (previously they had strong needles). In 1931–1932, the design bureau of the plant developed a modification of the BT-2 tank - the BT-3 tank, which differed from the previous one in the transition from inch to metric thread. In the army, this modification has retained its former name - BT-2. While the serial production of the BT-2 was underway, a number of tasks were set before the Soviet specialists, which were to be resolved in the shortest possible time. One of them was the translation of the drawings from the inch system to the metric system, since the American side handed over the documentation package in the first version. For the “new” modification, there was already prepared the designation BT-3, but the translation process has been strongly delayed.
