Project 133RA "Antares RA"

Project 133RA Antares RAAt the Seventh International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS-2015) in St. R. E. Alekseeva (Central Design Bureau for hydrofoils named after R. E. Alekseeva) showed the modernized high-speed missile and artillery hydrofoil boat of project 133RA "Antares RA" developed on her own initiative. The main focus was on the modernization of the hull and equipment. The design of the modernized project uses Stealth technology, which significantly reduces their radar signature. An important feature of the missile and artillery boat is the ability to reach a speed of 40 knots in a 5 point storm. In addition, with the same 5 points, "Antares RA" can use missile weapons.

As reported on June 28, 2019 by the TASS news agency, Russia is launching the world's first hydrofoil boat, armed with cruise missiles sea-based. TASS announced this during the 5th International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2019" general director - General Designer of the company "Radar Mms" Georgy Antsev.

According to him, the new project 133RA boat was named Antares RA, and Club missiles (an export version of the Caliber cruise missiles) were chosen as its main armament. “We have offered a solution with“ Calibers ”to a certain market segment. This is an interesting decision, considering that the boat is fast enough and has good seaworthiness, ”Antsev said.

Project 133RA Antares RAThe project 133RA Antares RA hydrofoil missile boat was developed by JSC Alekseev Central Design Bureau for SEC (is a strategic partner of Radar Mms). The total displacement of the boat is 226 tons, the maximum speed is up to 60 knots. The ship is equipped with four Club / "Caliber" cruise missiles.

Missile boat project 133RA (code "Antares RA") is made on the hull of the border patrol boat hydrofoils of project 133 (code "Antares") developed by the Central Design Bureau for SEC named after R. E. Alekseev in the 1970s. 12 boats (border patrol ships) of the project 133 were built at the Feodosia shipyard "More" from 1979 to 1993, but by now all have been written off (the last boats under the Russian and Ukrainian flags were written off in 2008-2009).

As for the stubbornness of JSC "Central Design Bureau for SEC named after R.E.Alekseev", which is trying to re-enter the water after 40-50 years and revive the long-extinct world interest in hydrofoil boats, recognized everywhere impractical due to their operational complexity, it remains only to envy.
