IJN Tanikaze Class Destroyers
The design of the Tanikaze class destroyers was essentially a larger and wider version of the Isokaze. Improvements included the elimination of coal, a stronger engine, the reduction of the main battery from four to three guns, but of higher caliber. In addition, after the Urakaze class destroyers, the Tanikaze were among the first to be equipped with twenty-one inch torpedo tubes.
