MSC682 Notojima
JS Notojima decommissioned 12 June 2020 in Kure. The 54-meter-long Notojima is one of twelve Sugashima-class mine diggers serving the MSDF, the naval branch of the Japan Self-Defense Force. A Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) minesweeper collided with a Japanese cargo ship in the Seto Inland Sea off the coast of Hiroshima Prefecture on 27 June 2019. No injuries were reported among the 41 crew members aboard the minesweeper and the five crew on the cargo ship, he added. The incident occurred about midnight on 27 June about 1.5 km northeast of Kone Island as Sugashima-class minesweeper JS Notojima (with pennant number MSC 682) was heading to a JMSDF base at the city of Kure (Hiroshima Prefecture).
