IJN Kii Class Battleships

The Kii class battleships were designed by Hiraga Yuzuru, who also designed Japan's first domestically built battleship the Nagato. They were modified forms of the Amagi class and designed for high speed with somewhat heavier armor on the belt and deck. Only two ships were named of the overall planned four, they were the Kii and the Owari. The class was cancelled, however, as a result of Japan's adherence to the Washington Naval Treaty. As a result, none of the ships made it beyond the designing phase.
