Mohajer-10
The Mohajer-10 is an Iranian combat drone that has a visual resemblance to the MQ-9 Reaper. Iran paraded its military hardware Friday 22 September 2023 on the anniversary of its 1980s war with Iraq, including "the longest-range drone in the world" along with ballistic and hypersonic missiles. Iranian state media said that the drone "was unveiled” in the parade, which was broadcast live, and that drones displayed in the event were named Mohajer, Shahed and Arash. “We can teach the people of the region that resistance is today’s way," President Ebrahim Raisi said at Friday’s parade in the capital Tehran. "What forces the enemy to retreat is not submission and wavering, but resistance.”
The Iranian Defense Industry disclosed on 23 August 2023 the Mojaher-10, the nation’s latest state-of-the-art domestically produced drone. It has a range of 2,000 km (1,240 miles) and can fly for up to 24 hours at an altitude of 7,000 meters. The Mohajer-10 can carry a payload of 300 kg, which is double the capacity of the Mohajer-6. It can reach a maximum speed of 210 km/h (130 mph) and has a fuel capacity of 450 liters.
The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was presented at a ceremony in Tehran attended by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, along with Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani and Commander of the Air Force in the Revolutionary Guards Brigadier General Ali Hajizadeh participated in the ceremony, on the occasion of Iran's Defense Industry Day.
Raisi told state television that Iran’s military advances have significantly altered the way Tehran is viewed in the region and across the world. “Yesterday, they viewed us as a consumer and a country in need. Today, they see us as a producer who can have much to say in the defence and military industries,” he said. Speaking to a group of defence ministry officials and scientists, he said Iran continues to seek friendly relations with all nations but will not hesitate to “cut off any hand” that wishes to invade Iran.
The unmanned attack aircraft, which resembles the MQ-9 Reaper manufactured by the United States, was also shown in videos taking off from an unidentified airstrip and flying. It is said to be capable of carrying a variety of bombs and anti-radar equipment and of conducting surveillance.
Iranian media on Tuesday also published a poster of the Mohajer-10, which depicted it flying in clouds overlooking the Dimona nuclear facilities in Israel with the words “Be ready to travel to the Stone Age”, written above it in Farsi and Hebrew. The unveiling came one day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed Iran for funding and encouraging a shooting attack on Israelis in Hebron in the occupied West along with other recent attacks against Israelis. Also on Monday, Israel launched an air strike in Syria targeting Iranian interests.
According to Iranian media, Mohajer-10 can stay in the air for 24 hours and fly at an altitude of seven kilometers, or a little over four miles. The UAV has an operational weight of 300 kilograms (just over 660lbs) – three times as much as Iran’s previous drone of a similar design – Mohajer-6. The new drone has an operational radius of 2,000 kilometers, according to reports.
A video released by Iranian state media shows a UAV that bears some resemblance to the US MQ-9 Reaper drones. Footage shows the aircraft successfully taking off and landing on a runway. It also demonstrates several types of missiles and equipment the vehicle can carry. According to the video, up to three missiles can be placed under each of its wings. The drone is equipped with electronic warfare and intelligence systems and can fly at the speed of 210 kilometers per hour (130mph), the Iranian media said.
Bearing this weight of explosive materials is apparently twice the power of the "Mohajar 6" drone. Mohajer 6 drone is one of the drones that Tehran is accused of exporting to Russia to use in the war against Ukraine.
Israel, which has advanced drone industries and closely monitors Iran's military capabilities, had so far refused to comment on the "Mohajer 10" drone. Israeli media, however, reflecting the reports about "Immigrant 10", called the video broadcast in Iranian media as an "implied threat" to Israel and wrote that this drone increases Iran's ability to threaten American forces in the region. Iran shot down an American MQ-9 drone 12 years ago and ignored the letter of then US President Barack Obama to return it. Western experts believed that the Islamic Republic made its UAV industry, which it had launched 28 years ago, more powerful by reverse engineering the MQ-9.
According to reports, the drone that was flown in Iraq in the winter of 2018 to kill Qassem Soleimani on the orders of Donald Trump, the next president of the United States, and killed the commander of the Quds branch of the IRGC, was of the MQ-9 model.
Reuters news agency, publishing the news of the unveiling of this drone, reported: Iran has built an advanced indigenous drone with a longer flight range and duration, as well as the ability to carry more cargo. Named Muhajir 10, the drone has an operational range of 2,000 kilometers (1,240 miles) and can fly for up to 24 hours. Its cargo can reach 300 kg (661 pounds), which is 2 times the capacity of Muhajir 6 drone.
The Associated Press news agency stated in a report: The Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Tuesday (today) unveiled a drone similar to the American MQ-9 Reaper drone and announced that this drone can stay in the air for 24 hours and has the range to reach the enemy. The main thing is to reach Israel.
In the continuation of its report, the Associated Press published the meaning of the word Mohajer in English and provided details about the capabilities of this drone and wrote: Mohajer 10 drone can also carry electronic surveillance equipment and cameras. Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, the president of Iran, also visited it on Tuesday at the same time as the unveiling of this drone.
In a report, the Bloomberg network covered the news of the unveiling of the Mohajer 10 drone and pointed out that according to Iran, this drone can reach the country's enemy, Israel, with its 2,000 km range.
The Zionist media, including The Times of Israel and the Jerusalem Post, as well as the I24 News channel, separately published the news of the unveiling of Iran's new indigenous drone. The Jerusalem Post newspaper wrote about this: Iran's acquisition of this drone with a range of 2,000 kilometers means that this country can threaten Israel and American forces in the region.
Jerusalem Post continued, Iran's new drone has similarities to the US-made Reaper drone as well as other similar drones in this class of long-range drones that can carry heavy payloads such as missiles. According to this Zionist newspaper, Iran has recently become an actor in the drone market and has increased the range and type of its drones. The production of UAVs in Iran dates back to the 1980s, but this country has made significant progress in this field in recent years. Jazuzalem Post also mentioned that the presence of the President of Iran at the unveiling ceremony of Mohajer 10 shows the importance of this drone for Tehran.
Referring to the capabilities of Mohajer 10, Haaretz newspaper considered this drone as a threat against the Zionist regime and wrote: Iran separately announced that it has provided two types of ballistic missiles to its army and IRGC, one of which is named Soleimani. Haaretz pointed out that the construction of the Mohajer series drones began in 1985, and stated: The Islamic Republic of Iran has unveiled a series of drones in the past few years that, according to the country's officials, are capable of long-range and long-range flights.
Yahoo News Agency, Military News-Analytical Database and Business Recorder, Al Arabiya Network, Arab News, Hindustan Times and New Arab newspapers are among the other media that published the news of the unveiling of the Mohajer 10 drone and the details of its capabilities.
