PSZH-2 páncélozott szállító harcjármű

At the end of the 1960s, in addition to the production of the the D-944 armored fighter carrier (PSZH), the Hungarian People's Army sought greater performance and a more efficient second generation PSZH. According to the task on the basis of specified requirements, the Military Technology with the collaboration of the Institute, the Vehicle Development Department of the Rába Hungarian Wagon Workshop developed in 1971 s a modern, second-generation PSZH-2 technical plan.

To the stage of implementation (the sample until they were production) were no longer available since the 1970s saw industrial policy choices for prioritized the reversal of domestic bus production. These are decisions for a long time they defined the profile of the domestic vehicle production and they still feel their unfavorable influence to this day.

The Technical Plan for the Development of PSZH-2 called an all-wheel-drive, 4-axle,wheel, independent wheel suspension, floating armored transport fighter-vehicle design. The vehicle constructive design was the then standardized D-566 type military design for the off-road truck. This principle was realized by the engine, the engines, running gear, suspension, brake construction and winch mrespect.

The armor is a self-supporting, completely hermetically sealed, floating structure that had a differentiated thickness (up to 20mm, minimun of 4mm), made of different angled armor plates. Assembling the armor was with welding technology and the plate was of the standard reinforcements. Four high-strength steel tubes made a column that supported the bottom plate. The armor was designed to protect from 20-30mm machine gun fire over a distance of more than 500 meter away from the face, and hand guns fire and artillery splinters over 100-200 meters from all directions.

The lead area has seating for the driver and commander. The car is driven with 3 periscopic systems. The commander has a vision device in the rotating dome above his headis built into which a hatch hole is also trained.

The turret in the middle is atop with weapons equipment. Behind the turret is space for 10 troops in the transport space with ball-shaped slots built into the side so they can use their own weapons. The armor-body on left side is of 5 pieces, on right side 4 pieces, while the rear door has 2 slits. The turret complex has a diameter of 1500 mm and is 260 mm to the left vehicle's longitudinal axis.

Two versions of the tower were reported. The Polish made Vidra complex has a 30 mmmachine gun and a 7,62 mm machine gun. Version B of the Soviet BMP-1 complex is a 73mm gun with a 7.62 mm machine gun and a Maljutka wired remote control missile incorporating the launch system. The diesel engine is athe Rába-MAN 2156 engine embedded in the right side of the engine compartment. With regard to its construction, it is water-cooled 6 cylinder with a maximum output is 170.2 kW.

The tactical technical parameters of PSZH-2 were established in a technical plan for a vehicle which is in many respects, even today, can evaluate as an effective military technology.
