Landing Operations
In movies about World War II often unforgettable images of beaches are ambushed by huge waves of amphibious vehicles and landing craft. But today amphibious operations can no longer be conducted in this manner because the modern technology has made available the deadly weapon systems whose precision shooting would have been unthinkable only a few years ago. For this reason, the doctrine of use amphibious forces has evolved greatly, and is today an amphibious operation conducted by Forces from Landing very differently from the past.
The preparatory phase is carried out by the DOA (Demolition Antisbarco Obstacles) and RECON (Reconnaissance), landing force that infiltrated into enemy territory by helicopter or boat. Just arrived at the site, the DOA and RECON verify the disposition of the enemy on the ground and then communicate it via radio to the vessel where is located the Commander of the operation.
Then begins the most delicate of their work: while the RECON intrude into enemy territory to continue to provide coverage for "intelligence" to the operation, the DOA go on the site chosen for the landing. Ensure to place explosives near the enemy defensive positions, strategically more important to neutralize and then to reclaim antisbarco obstacles and mines the beach and the sea is the subject of the subsequent task of landing.
This is an operation that requires a high degree of training: DOA should detect any enemy mines, both underwater and underground. So they must prepare to blow controcariche, at the appropriate time in order to demolish all barriers antisbarco. Everything takes place in the dark of night; in fact, the DOA and RECON should not reveal your presence to the enemy, not to nullify the effect of surprise, without engaging in combat; Obviously these specialists with special equipment.
When the fixed time frame, while ships began shelling the shore, planes and helicopters hit defenses, the DOA remained in site blow up explosive charges previously arranged, opening the so-called "Canal landing" for the forces in the assault thatOnce landed, the penetration. Staying in water is the period of maximum vulnerability to amphibious forces, and then tries to minimize exposure during this phase by increasing the execution speed of the maneuver. That is why today the wave of Fusiliers is preceded by naval operations in order to acquire the "space command" in which the landing takes place. The edge-to-Earth movement is brought on by a myriad of small craft extremely fast, powerful punts equipped with outboard motors, which takes place a team (eight men).
Only when the first wave will be neutralized the enemy emplacements, arrive on the Beach the amphibious vehicles AAV (Assault Amphibious Vehicle), and later other pickup (VCC) transported by boats from landing type "MEN" and "DND". Finally will be sent to earth means rotated with other men and logistical material necessary to consolidate and hold "head of landing" just conquered.
