Anders WPB - Requirements
In the case of Poland, developing a variety of military tracked vehicles and their applications goes to the statutory activities of Gliwice OBRUM-u. Market analysis and the latest technical solutions in this field continues its virtually uninterrupted. In recent years, the resort several times performed with initiatives to develop combat vehicles of the new generation of the Polish Army, but without the "green light" at the highest levels of management of the state and the army for such projects, primarily because of the cost, their implementation is in Polish conditions virtually impossible.
It was realized, however, at that time a lot of work partial related to these issues, done a lot of analysis and established numerous contacts at home and abroad. In the second half of the decade, based, among others, on the knowledge of the planned lifetime major types of tracked combat vehicles of the Polish Army, as well as talks with representatives of the General Staff and Land Forces Command on the shape of the operational requirements for their successors and prospects for the development of major groups armed army and meet the needs in this regard by the national industry, included in their study "Polish vision of the future battlefield" of 2006. and many other studies (as own and developed by WAT), in OBRUM developed the concept of multitasking tracked combat platform.
Such a unified media with a modular design, allow to develop on its basis, virtually all tracked combat vehicles and support of mass battle between 25-35 tons, they need modern armed forces. This approach is currently preferred worldwide due to the rationalization of costs associated with the support lifecycle of equipment, easy adaptability to changing operational needs and issues related to the training.
By creating a concept car, of course, taken into account the nature of armed conflicts currently taking place in the world and the challenges posed by the battle chariots new threats". The mock examples of this type of work may be American programs such as Armored Systems Modernization (AMS), Future Combat Systems (FCS), the British Future Rapid Effect System (FRES) is the latest Russian projects under codenames "Cannon," "kurganets-25 "and" boomerang".
These programs, however, are a big challenge also for the very rich countries like the US, it is reasonable to question whether the state thus less wealthy which is the Republic of Poland, he is able to cope. The main problem would appear to discern here the purely technical issues, as how to reconcile the different requirements for different types of combat vehicles based on one universal hull.
With such a problem encountered, for example, in the case of the US program Future Combat Systems, where it was initially assumed that the multi-purpose platform fighting MGV (Manned Ground Vehicle - Manned Vehicle Land) will be depending on the built module missionary and equipment weight from 20 to 29 tons, and its the survival rate will be mainly based on the active defense system and situational awareness. The experience of Iraq and Afghanistan have shown, however, that the guard ballistic with solid armor is still necessary, the reason and the rising cost of the program resulted in its cancellation and the replacement program GCV (Ground Combat Vehicle - Land Vehicle Combat) whose main objective is to develop a heavy car combat infantry, armor and having a heavy weight is comparable with tanks essential, and the ability to design a program other types of heavy and solidly armored combat vehicles like the new tank basic or armato-propelled howitzer.
The obvious fact is that the other requirements and thus the overall structural system of the vehicle shall be placed before the primary tank, and the other in front of the car combat infantry. This causes problems with the work of research and development, and can generate higher costs, despite the fact that the main idea of ??unification is their minimization.
This does not mean, however, that this situation has no choice but to Polish program multitasking platform battle, instructions may be solutions abroad. For example, the American program ASM assumed no one and two unified platform battle, first with the engine placed at the rear of the hull optimized for tank and special vehicles as Armoured Recovery Vehicle and vehicle engineering, and the second drive unit located at the front-optimized fighting vehicle infantry or other types of vehicles.
Similar solution seems to be recognized by the Russians in the case of a program of heavy multitasking combat platform "Cannon", although here the Russians seem to be somewhat safe than sorry, and in parallel develop a lighter platform "kurganets-25", which may allow the division of roles, "Armata" It will therefore be the basis for the tank and other structures that require heavier, better shielded media, and "kurganets-25" assume the role of a base for fighting vehicle infantry and will be characterized by greater versatility, which could be seen on the provided by the producers and the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation models.
