FL-1000
The FL-1000 Ammunition and Artillery Integrated Light Combat System was developed by the Aerospace Science and Technology Group. The system consists of: (1) QW-2 portable shoulder-mounted air defense missile serves as air defense mission; (2) 12.7 mm machine gun completes ground-to-air combat missions; (3) launches 35mm grenade to attack ground targets" (4) platform adopts "Warrior" off-road vehicle.
The Chinese Army has long noticed the importance of field air defense. In the Korean War, the bombing by the US Air Force caused great losses to the volunteers. In the Vietnam War, close air support became the main support firepower for American infantry operations. The importance of air defense is self-evident, although the focus of the Chinese aid to Vietnam is on ground air defense. In the first Iraq war, air strikes almost determined victory or defeat. When the Allied ground forces attacked heavily, Saddam’s army was already outgassing and insulting less. The Kosovo War was the first war won purely by air strikes. In future wars, the role of air strikes will only be greater, and the army’s combat effectiveness and even survivability are inseparable from field air defense capabilities.
But the nature of air strikes is also changing. Attack aircraft using aerial artillery or rockets within the line of sight are no longer the main attack methods. Fighter-bombers launching missiles and guided bombs outside the line of sight are increasingly becoming the main attack methods, and Wuzhi is also increasingly relying on missile weapons. On the other hand, guided munitions fired by large-caliber artillery and long-range rockets have supplemented or even replaced traditional aerial attacks to a large extent. Cruise missiles and short-range ballistic missiles have also been increasingly used as tactical weapons. In addition to acting as a scout who is not afraid of death, UAVs have also begun to directly attack on the battlefield. Of course, when equipped with guided munitions, traditional mortars also have brand-new power, and can even effectively attack tanks on the move.
All this makes the traditional field air defense mainly based on fighting aircraft (including helicopters) no longer meet the needs of the battlefield in the new era. Counter-rockets, artillery shells, and mortar shells (abbreviated as C-RAM) have become new challenges. C-RAM also Including anti-cruise missiles, guided bombs, unmanned aerial vehicles, etc.
Other military powers in the world, such as the United States, Russia, and Western European countries, all have their armies turned into missiles for air defense equipment. Therefore, the Chinese Army urgently needs to be equipped with a cost-effective medium and short-range, medium and low-altitude air defense missile or an integrated system of missiles and artillery to replace all kinds of antiaircraft artillery. Judging from the development of China’s foreign trade short-range air defense systems in recent years, "Tianlong"-12, "Yitian", SWS2, FK-1000, FM-3000, FL-2000C, FB-10 and other excellent air defense systems have all For the potential of domestic equipment models. In addition, after the Chinese Army’s air defense forces have a complete system of far, medium and near, low, medium and high air defenses, it will also be more conducive to the establishment of an integrated air defense and anti-missile system with the army as the main body in each theater.
The combination of projectiles and artillery is another idea. In theory, it has the advantages of antiaircraft artillery and missiles, but in fact it also has the shortcomings of both. Not only are they heavy and costly, if the design is not good, they may get in the way of each other. Antiaircraft artillery must achieve sufficient accuracy, range, power and rate of fire, the recoil force cannot be small. Missiles are precision equipment, and they are subject to such shocks in a long-term standby state, which can easily cause component failure and component fatigue. The projectile mode cannot be used at the same time, and the conversion takes a certain amount of time, although the problem is not too big.
The long-range air defense performance is not as good as that of a pure surface-to-air missile, and the close-range air defense is not as good as a pure anti-aircraft gun. This system has not found favor with users, and has faded from view.
