Dahua-Class - 891 Bi Sheng comprehensive test ship
This comprehensive test ship, named after Bi Sheng, a famous ancient scientist in China, has been used as a marine test platform for conventional naval weapons and equipment. It has completed dozens of new weapons development and finalized tests, spawning numerous coastal defense weapons. The "Bi Sheng" ship also set a number of new records in naval history such as the most complete test data, the longest range, the longest time, and the highest accuracy of this type of system.
Bi Sheng entered service in October 1997. In recent years, the ship has played an irreplaceable role in the finalized production of certain types of shipborne electronic countermeasures systems, new general-purpose supersonic ship-to-ship missiles, new ship-to-air launchers, and a new generation of fleet air defense radars.
According to the Chinese People's Liberation Army naval ship naming regulations, surface ships are named after places, mountains, rivers and lakes. The official statement is that initially only two ships were named after people, one is the naval training ship "Zheng He", string number 81; the other is the national defense mobilization ship "Shichang", string number 82. But in fact, there are two ships named after people, they are the Navy Bi Sheng ship (Xian No. 891) and the Navy Hua Luogeng ship (Xian No. 892). The reason why they are not known to people is that they are obscurely undertaking the task of testing and finalizing the Navy’s new weapons and equipment. For example, weapons and equipment such as Yingzha-62, Haihongqi-9, and Haihongqi-16 were all tested and finalized on the Bisheng.
In addition to various missile systems, Bi Shengjian also performed the finalization and test tasks of China's new generation of medium-caliber naval guns, including the new single-tube 100 mm rapid-fire naval gun and single-tube 76 mm rapid-fire naval gun.
In the mid-1990s, the first-generation domestic-made multi-barreled close-in defense weapon system was successfully developed (7-barrel 30-mm close-in defense system, commonly known as 730, code-named " Sea Shield "), and then land tests were carried out. Various types of simulated targets have been tested with live ammunition, and good test results have been obtained. However, some problems were also discovered in the test. After improvement, the final sea setting test was carried out on the "Bi Sheng" ship, and the design was finally finalized, becoming China's first practical multi-barrel close defense weapon system.
PLAN Ship No. 970 is used to test new weapon systems. In January 1998, serial number 970 [China's first specialty marine development ship] officially drove into the distant South China Sea. The ship experimented with the target range, its module-like structure, the advanced observation and control and the direction navigation aid were used with this old ship to reequip "the old target range" to trace has traced, looks looked, simply was is unable to put down. Subsequently, 970-ship successively modeled ship-borne electronic countermeasure system, new supersonic ship ship missile, new ship spatial launching device as well as new generation of fleet air defense radar and so on "nine. Five key attack projects produced the function which could not be substituted.
In addition to weapon systems, Bi Sheng ship is also a test platform for a new generation of ship-based combat command systems and integrated electronic warfare systems. Since a variety of different types of ship-based weapons can be installed on the ship, it can be integrated and integrated with the new generation of combat command systems. Test, so the test results have obvious advantages compared to previous tests on different platforms, and at the same time, it can quickly find problems in system integration.
The construction and use of the Bi Sheng ship greatly accelerated the development of new weapons and equipment of the Chinese Navy, and played an extremely important role in the equipment of the third-generation destroyers and frigates and the new generation of main battle ships. It is foreseeable that the ship will continue to have an important and positive impact on the modernization of the Chinese Navy and the development and development of new generation shipborne weapons. What is even more surprising is that the construction of another sister ship of the Bi Sheng ship has begun and will become the second comprehensive maritime test ship of the Chinese Navy. The construction of the second test ship fully demonstrates that the development and test projects of the Chinese Navy’s new weapon system are very arduous, the tasks and time are relatively urgent, and a Bisheng ship can no longer meet the requirements. It is believed that after the "Hua Luogeng" comprehensive test ship with string number 892 enters service, the development of new weapons of the Chinese Navy will undoubtedly be greatly accelerated, and the modernization of the Chinese Navy's ship-borne weapon system will be improved.
