718th Research Institute

718th Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation was established in 1966. It is located in Handan City, Hebei Province. It is a research institute mainly engaged in marine and terrestrial environmental systems engineering and chemical and other energy technology applications. There are 740 employees, including more than 500 engineers and technicians, 139 with senior professional and technical positions (including 37 researchers), and 13 people enjoy national government subsidies. It has more than 300 sets of large-scale scientific experiments and supporting research equipments such as color/mass spectrometer, spectrometer, diffractometer, specific surface measuring instrument and atomic absorption spectrometer. Holding the "Environmental Evaluation Certificate" issued by the State Environmental Protection Agency, the Ship Industry Chemical Substance Testing Center and the Hebei Provincial Defense Industry Office Chemometrics Station are located in the office.

Over the years, the 718th Research Institute of CSIC has continuously undertaken the research tasks of national key projects and obtained more than 100 major scientific research achievements at the national, provincial and ministerial levels. At the same time, for the national economic construction, has developed a series of pressurized water electrolysis hydrogen production unit, methanol decomposition hydrogen production unit, pressure swing adsorption hydrogen production unit, composite hydrogen removal unit, petroleum logging equipment, gas analysis and monitoring equipment, LXK series Catalytic components, hazardous gas purification equipment, urban sewage treatment equipment, series of chemical industry catalysts, series of automotive cleaning agents, series of electronic special gases and remote sensing, remote communication, remote control system devices, etc., widely used or supporting services in electric power, energy, metallurgy , chemical, nuclear power plants, environmental protection, building materials, textiles, petroleum, meteorology, urban construction and other industries or sectors.

In accordance with the requirements of GB/T19000 series standards, it established a quality system suitable for the research and production of the Institute. In 1998, it passed the audit of China New Age Quality System Certification Center and obtained the GB/T19001-1994 quality system certification. In 2002, it passed the IS09001:2000 version of the China New Age Quality System Certification Center, and obtained the GB/T19001-2000 (idt IS09001:2000) quality system certification.

The CSIC No.718 Research Institute has the world’s largest production base for water electrolysis hydrogen generators, forming aproduct system of alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen generators and pure water electrolysis hydrogen generators. The electrolytic-hydrogen generator produced by the institute have a domestic market share of 70%, and its products are exported to more than 30 countries and regions such as the United States, Norway, Germany, Iceland, Russia, Turkey, South Korea, India, Vietnam and Indonesia.

Chongqing Qianwei Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd., Shanxi Fenxi Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., and the CSIC No.718 Research Institute special gas department were selected by the State-owned Assets Supervision and AdministrationCommission (SASAC) to carry out pilot reform of the “Double Hundred Actions”.
